Well there was kelly who kicked the raptor out the window and it had a piece of wood in it side but we just see it on the ground screaming in pain. Thats all I remember.

I don't think a .577 T-Rex rifle, despite its name, could kill a T-Rex. An artillery shell, maybe?

Is there a reason they have to keep locating the park on a remote island? Is it some kind of tax haven?

Yes... technically though the island is leased from costa rica it's international waters so laws implemented by UN, America, etc can not be enforced.
