Re: Jurassic World

Im curious how many people saw this movie without seeing the trailer or researched the basic synopsis of the the story? Like I have said I watched Jurassic World seeing it 100% fresh not previews, no loose understanding of the story etc and I was very disappointed.

I just now decided to watch the trailers for the first time on YouTube and thought it looked pretty cool. So if i had walked in having seen the trailers and wanted the full version of the trailer, might be pretty entertained. But walking into the movie and having the story tell itself for the very first time and being disappointed!!! What does that mean?? It's a valid thought!

Re: Jurassic World

So it's not cheesy? Are people focusing on that, when it's actually minor? Because JP III had some cheesy moments but overall (for me) I wouldn't describe it that way.

Well it's cheesy but in a "Luke blowing up the Death Star/Daniel crane kicks Johnny" kind of way. I mean it's like they literally tried to conceive of the most exciting dino climax imaginable. They so pulled out all the stops, threw in every kind of crowd pleasing/fan service moment they could and on paper or retrospect it's like they had NO business in actually pulling any of it off but in the theater I practically wanted to stand up and cheer a couple times over. :lol They just nailed it. It was genuinely exciting and exhilarating.

Expectations man. A lot of us were hoping to see the trailer on steroids and for us the movie delivered. But if you had any expectation, or worse, preference for a different kind of story going in, then yeah, I could see how JW would totally blind side you and not in a good way.

Re: Jurassic World

a-dev is just mad that he didn't have a good enough seat to see the tire track marks on the T-Rex's face. :lecture

A-dev needs to see this film again to see what the **** you're all raving about. I aint paying for it again though no matter where I get to sit.

Re: Jurassic World

I thought it was a pretty serious and intense movie. I-Rex was a great villain. I couldn't wait to see what was next and loved all of the JP references.

I saw the trailers and thought it would be just ok from them. I wasn't sure about I-Rex or a raptor army working with a dude on a motorcycle but it all works.

Easily beat all expectations and had some nice surprises.

Re: Jurassic World

I don't get why are the raptors now like big puppies in this, they've always been lethal monsters that everyone ****s their pants from. I thought Pratt was gonna give that one a hug at the end [emoji38] [emoji38]

Re: Jurassic World

I wouldn't call them like puppies. Far from it. I think he's instilled very basic commands into them. And he's presumably been training them since birth. So in all that time he's gotten them to do just those things but they'd just as easily kill him. I've seen wild wolves who were more domesticated than these raptors.

Re: Jurassic World

It's like seeing the shark from Jaws performing tricks at seaworld. There is nothing in this film that has genuine tension like the raptor kitchen scene.

Re: Jurassic World

There wasn't any need for them to include the sexual humping joke in this movie, there were a ton of kids at my showing.

Love story, ok.

But the movie would've been just fine without that one silly joke.

Also, does Bryce's character really think that

she's just going to walk off into the sunset with Mr. Handsome after everything that happened? She's going to jail for all those deaths!

true.... But if they were old enough to understand the Joke then... well... there you have it. When My kid asked what they were talking about I told them Mating... Which he gets from watching Discovery channel lol...

Having said that.... That Joke did not bother me as much as the "Hide the Zucchini" from Ultron. That was a bit harder to explain away.. Yet another reason that movie sucks ;) ;) ;)

Guess I could have just said Mating again :lol

I could be wrong but outside of park employees I don't remember any civilian deaths being highlighted. Just implied during the Pteranodon/Dimorphoon scene. Maybe one or two by the Idominos during that scene.

And besides that why Risk of Death papers are signed I'm sure. :lol

According to the director the T-Rex at the end of the film was supposed to be the one from the first film... Which is cool... However I am Not sure that makes sense since they had to have lysine in their food to survive.... I guess you could use the reason they had in TLW but there did not seem to be enough Dinosaurs. But perhaps Ingen came in and took control of the island soon after the incident..

Having said all of this... JW seemed to be saying TLW and JPIII never happened.

It was stated somewhere that InGen/or the Masrani corp. cleaned up the island soon after the events of JP.

Re: Jurassic World

Why wouldn't they have cleaned up the parts from JP1, I find it hard to believe that a corporation wouldn't have used that space for more profits.

Re: Jurassic World

Just WOW!

Industry calculations tonight are pointing toward an opening weekend of $200M for Universal’s Jurassic World, which would make it the second biggest domestic opening of all-time behind The Avengers’ $207.4M all-time title.

In regards to premium large format theaters, JW is looking to have a share of 9% of the weekend B.O. with $17.5M, which would best Avengers: Age of Ultron‘s record of $13M.

Jurassic World
is taking a bite of box office history. It’s already Universal’s biggest opening night and biggest opening ever. It’s already the biggest June opener. And now it could become the No. 2 opening of all time, behind only The Avengers. This movie garnered an A CinemaScore and is playing incredibly strong. The studio can thank this entertaining romp for giving it the lead in marketshare for the year so far, too.

Re: Jurassic World

Irvy lives in a place where puppies eat people the second they don't feel like listening to humans. You need to move dude, or at the very least call Animal Control.

This film turned bad guys into allies just like Terminator 2, but unlike T2 it had the balls to keep the Raptors scary. No "he'll live" nonsense, no they were still frighteningly lethal at a moment's notice.
