So this made 3.8 million this weekend bringing it to with 27 million of Titanic's combined (original run + re-release) total. Doubt it will be able to make that much over the next few weeks. So close, dammit. :lol

Wow. But close all the same. Better than Titanic's original run though (OK, not really if you adjust)... but let's just pretend.

For those that hate this movie, it could be worse, the 3rd top grossing film could be Transformers 5: Attack of the Noise. At least Jurassic is connected to Spielberg... who should always have one of the top 5 movies up there.

I swear he timed Titanic's 2012 3D re-release just to keep it ahead of the first Avengers (which also earned more than Titanic's 1997/98 first run.) :lol

Curse you Cameron. And all the halflings.

Not only that but now I'm seeing that there isn't one single Star Wars film in the Top *15* worldwide box office. That ain't right. Hopefully TFA remedies that situation. The original Star Wars and The Phantom Menace (ick) are at least still Top 10 domestic.

That's pretty insane. I keep hearing that Star Wars isn't as big around the world as it is here in the US. I never really believed that, figured it was lack of exposure... but I guess its true to a degree. The new films will show one way or the other.

Strange to think of Star Wars as globally niche. :lol

Nothing to be ashamed of no, although I am confused as to how any film has appeal enough to see it that many times in the cinema let alone this one. I saw the first Jurassic Park once in the cinema and that was when CGI was new and a huge deal.

Well, people do like movies lol I saw The Dark Knight 7 times in theaters and I saw Pacific Rim 6 times. But mostly I'll see a film once, maybe twice if there's nothing out the next weekend that I want to see which was the case for me with Jurassic World.

Childs play all of you ADD kids. When Star Wars came out I saw it 30 times that first year it was out. And mostly sitting thru two showings back to back.

There wasn't much to do in the olden times before electicity and cars.

I was there too watching Star Wars back to back. I must have seen episode 4 20 times in the theatre. Empire at least 10 times. I remember seeing the first Jurassic Park at least 4 times. When those Dino's came out it was always like Whoa! Now it's like meh, no big deal.

:duff

Good times. You got me beat on ESB; only saw it 9 times in theater. I still have the ticket stubs somewhere; of course back then they were literally like carnival tickets, had to write the movie on th stub.
