Exactly! It's all about deciding what you want most and being patient. Quality over quantity is something all of us will have to deal with soon enough. Some of us sooner (because of space and/or money) rather than later.

I've also recently cancelled both my Exclusive "T-800" & "T-1000" figures. I also just put both my "Superman" & "Green Lantern" 13" figures from DC Direct up for sale on ebay.

I've decided (because of $ and shelf space) to concentrate only on the Star Wars and LOTR 12" lines, but even among those lines I will have to "pick and chose"... I passed on the "probe droid" EP and I cancelled my "Anakin - Darth Vader Sith Aprentice".

I'm shocked (and relieved) so many people are in the same boat. As the year's gone on and more things were revealed I've had to decide what my focus was going to be as well (I only collect 1:6).

I cancelled all my 1:6 Star Wars pre-orders, (most were exclusives), and I'll stick to only picking the few SW characters I really really want- (ANH Han and Chewie someday) to ensure I can afford all of my 1:6 horror figures coming out later this year (Chucky, Jason, Dead Security Guard >Drool!<) and Doctor Who dolls!

Now with SDCC I just cancelled my ED-209 to get the Jabba set-up instead (even though he's months away), because he's just so freakin unbelievable (won't be getting a Bib or Boushh though).

I hear you man. However, cancelling Fett PF may have been a mistake.

Well it basically comes down to him or Jabba for me. And I'm still flabbergasted that 1. a 1/6 Jabba exists, and 2. it looks so cool.

Plus we know that there'll be a 1/6 Boba that can be displayed *with* Jabba.

And as I said before he creates the perfect context for a "complete" looking incomplete collection. No need to stress about getting each and every figure, just get the main iconics (Luke, Leia, Han, Chewie, Lando, and the droids) plus Boba and some alien guys and bam, perfect "complete" collection and movie accurate diorama to boot!

I had the same choice and I went with Leia. And now I am regretting it!

Ironman may be one of the few marvel pieces I end up keeping. There is no way I am going to cancel that statue. I have to see it in person first.

This was a tough weekend, deciding what direction the collection is going to go in, and out of everything I have ever collected, I have always kept my Sideshow 12-inch figures. I also had a run of cancellations, in the 1000.00 ballpark, but it is a time like this that you have to prioritize. I cancelled both of the PF figures I had ordered, Buffy and Boba, as those are now outside the "normal" collecting for me. I also need to trim down which lines I collect, and from here on out will be going with Buffy/LOTR/Star Wars, and the occassional Zombie figure. I too find some small comfort in that a lot of people here are also making tough decisions.

I do think we can be a bad influence on one another though, getting each other all excited about new pre-orders and upcoming releases. I will always hear the voice of the evil dead: JOIN US!!!

So far, I haven't had to cancel anything. But I only collect 1/6th and at the moment the only lines I'm collecting/completing are:

SW, LOTR, T2, HT ALIENS Marines, one Predator (Scar) and one BOND (Connery white tux). I also have the JAWS maquette on preorder (if something's gotta give, I fear for Bruce).

Yeah, I had to do some trimming as well with my orders.... Decided since I have officially started getting the HT Marines, I will only get the ones I like and wait until they put out an Aliens Warrior. I cancelled my Predators as well, also waiting until HT eventually puts out the original.

My fiance won't let me cancel Bruce the Shark, as that is her most anticipated piece. I refuse to let go of my LOTR or SW pieces, including the upcoming PF's. I just have to have them, no matter what happens. I cancelled almost all other orders, save for Jason IV. I have the Flex pay all worked out for the 4th Quarter to ensure that I can afford everything together... Jabba and Boba...

It's gonna be tough, but I will pull it off somehow....

And to top it all off, I have to save for my Honeymoon next April as well!!!

Hitting that cancel button is hard but it really tests your character as a collector. Especially when most of those orders you had to fight your way through to get them before the whole Inclusive business.

SDCC is a very exciting time but also tough of you don't have the option to get everything. Don't feel bad if you have to make tough choices. I know is hard when you read all the excitement in message boards...but it is also very decieving. Not everyone follows through on what they say they'll get and lord knows nobody has unlimited space. It'll get to the point when all those people bragging that they got something will sell it because something more cool will come out.

The point here is to be happy with what you can afford and keep a focus on what you collect. Do not get overwhelmed trying to get everything.

I'm happy to have all that stuff cancelled. A lot of it was stuff I didn;t want to miss "just in case" I actually ended up wanting it. But cancelling it simplified everything.

What's the story behind swinging from Medicom's (ouch) nuts?

I'm kinda new to the Sideshow game, but canceled PF Boba for Jabba. I'm just going for 1:6 SW and LOTR, while crossing my fingers they won't clutter.

This is just too phenomenal:

Even though Bespin Luke is my "holy grail" figure, I can't imagine more fun than seeing Jabba and his entourage perched in my house. Awesome.

One thing that made me seriously re-evaluate pre-ordering every single SW 12 inch is when I wrote down every single figure I'd like to have. There were probably an average of eight or nine figures per movie, or around 50 figures! Then I looked at some of the online collection pics of that many figures. You're pretty much just limited to rows of figures with their hands at their sides, no one really standing out.

The more I viewed online collections the more I realized how much I appreciated some of the more "minimalist" collections.

So Jabba will be my one "virtual PF" with 6-10 or so figures from his court plus a few select iconics from other movies (Bespin Luke, ROTS Obi-Wan and Anakin/Vader, etc.) paired up in separate displays.

Since LOTR is moving so slowly and of SUCH high quality I'll see about being a completist for that one. If they pick it up I might stick to the fellowship, Gollum, Saruman, and the Witch King but we'll just have to see.

LOL yup. I've waited years for quality figures from these lines, I'm not going to give them up over money. Money is made to be spent.

Welcome. I told someone over on the Scumrebel board to quit swingin from Medicoms nuts since nothing can touch the alll mighty Medicom and some new high and mighty mod send me a message scolding me not to say such things again lol.

And Khev, I don't think anything in the 12" line is going to top Jabba for some time.
