Billy Idol survived the 80's his career didn't

Well, his last hit song was in 1990, so I guess he barely made it.

Cradle of Love was his second best selling song though (Mony Mony being the first.) His Charmed Life Album came out late 1990 and he had a presence on the radio for a good couple years after that, had a killer stage show, and even stuck around to appear in The Wedding Singer (which was what, 1997?)

He did start to lose me with his Cyberpunk album in 1993 and the goofy dreadlocks though. His heyday was definitely the 80's but he had a respectable overflow into the 90's. He didn't just disappear like the majority of 80's rock stars.

I'm very possibly the biggest 80s music fan on this forum and I have to admit that ceadle of love would have fit just fine in the top 40 countdown from 1986. That is a compliment.

While this is clearly not the character Dafoe would be playing if it's a good guy role, this could actually be a way to rescue the character. I don't think they ever said that Lex Sr. was dead. Of if Jr. said it, he could have been lying since he was unstable. So the idea could be that Sr. was abroad running the empire and 19-year-old junior, left in charge, took the opportunity to run amok. It would be like Don Jr. running Trump Enterprises while Donald was off running for president. That would clear the way for Eisenberg to be marginalized and off in the asylum and let someone like Bryan Cranston, John Hamm or even Clancy Brown step into the role of senior and play it closer to the source material. In fact with Superman being responsible for defeating junior, senior would have all the more reason to hate him. It's a little messy, but certainly doable. It's kind of like the back door escape hatch IM3 has with Mandarin that would even allow Kingsley to return to the role.

I remember that concert. He was trying to break the world record for most microphones eaten on stage. I believe he was up to about 47 when that pic was taken.
