I dunno about which "Da Farce Awakens" poster yall talkin' about but Struzan DID a teaser poster:

It's not garbage but meh for sure.
Then again, Struzan did it out of retirement and for a garbage movie so I can't really blame him.

Yes, I know about this one, but wasn't this some kind of convention exclusive thing? I never saw this used to promote the movie.
I do agree that it's not his best. I think if you took out Han it would be a much nicer artwork. He seems tacked on.

Did a thread a while back on the greatest movie posters of all time.....

My guess is its cheaper to hire a photoshop hack to make a poster rather than pay an actual artist....

Back in the day I am sure the opposite was true....

Absolutely. If you haven't, check out the documentary about Drew Struzan to get an idea of the market for poster art back then. I was shocked to learn that his iconic The Thing poster was done basically overnight with almost no story details (hence how ominous and freaky it is) for pretty crap pay.

EDIT: ha, based on your comments I thought I had clicked into the Blade Runner thread. I'm not sure why they're going all 'shoppy for this one. Just the trend I guess.
