Eh, yes and no, and more often than not only in the short term unless the woman is extremely shallow and incapable of providing for herself. There are a LOT of independent and financially stable women out there who won't turn a blind eye to a man's many faults simply because he's wealthier than her. I'm talking in general though and not so much with regard to aspiring starlets who might be willing to do anything to get famous.

In order to investigate this question, Carter and his team presented 128 female undergraduates with the descriptions of two types of male characters: Dark Triads and controls. The high Dark Triad self- description encompassed traits which includes: a desire for attention, admiration, favors, and prestige; the manipulation, exploitation, deceit and flattery of others; a lack of remorse, morality concerns and sensitivity, and cynicism. (The ‘Dirty Dozen’ is a condensed version of the Narcissistic Personality Inventory, Mach-IV, and Psychopathy Scale-III). The control self-description purposefully matched the high Dark Triad description, but it dropped out the dark personality traits.

What did Carter and his colleagues find? Women found the Dark Triad personality more attractive than the control.

Deep down they know that a better mate is the one bashing his enemies in the head. A protector, a provider. Not some lame "nice" guy that cant even kill a rat...
Society keeps advancing and becoming technologically advanced yet we are still bound to our ancestral genes.

Nice guys are like the sick and the weak of the pack. The ones that get eaten by the tiger...
Sure we live in a society where people prefer nice people,
But deep down women still need what they needed thousands of years ago..

The last time I drunkenly made an unprompted facebook post on my timeline it was misinterpreted as me doing this. It was embarrassing as **** and pissed me off for weeks afterward. I wanted to argue my case but it probably would have come across as ''he doth protest too much'' so I just left it. I was ****ing seething though. It was a self-deprecating joke post that got taken seriously.

I've come to realise that self-deprecating humour should now be avoided if I can help it.
