This thread is hilarious. Funny how the conversations have shifted to sexuality, women, and a fat slug who is now after all these years getting ousted for his apparent indiscretions. Eh, at least it makes for some good laughs.

So JL comes out soon. I wonder how much it will underwhelm with the fans and at the box office.

In a thread about superheroes, no less! Interesting how a topic concerning characters who are the manifestation of our physical ideals and who represent our most virtuous attributes have become a platform for how our misguided conceptions of sexuality and obsession with the physical enable some of our most abhorrent violations.

Not really. Hulk is the best example of male youth.

They just arrested a NYC cop for masturbating at 7 year old girls.

Makes Weinstein look like an angle.

Poor New York, now those folks have to pay his leave.

You know, if we changed it so cops who do this kinda stuff, or you know, kill someone who shouldn't have been killed or use excessive force, like we keep seeing, they should make it come out of their personal pension plan instead of our tax dollars. It only makes sense. Why should we pay for his defense and his paid leave?

Yup he would lure them in by making them trust him because he was a cop.

Many neighborhoods already don’t trust the police as it stands now so he just created even more long term irreversible damage.

Cops are the biggest gang in the US. A serious problem that no one seems to care about.

The "few bad apples" theory that all the bootlickers use is nonsense. There's two types of cops, bad cops and silent cops. Neither are good.

The advent of cheap video cameras on phones and social media has definitely changed my perception toward police in general. Used to be I would take a random police officer's word over a random citizen. But now we see case after case, where law enforcement's story will change 15 times as a story progresses, and more information comes out. Sad!

Is Justice League now about this, by the way? Seems like this topic has veered further off course than most, even.

Meh, everyone hates cops till they need one.....

And let's remember in this country innocent till proven guilty..

**** that I ain't never calling the cops, they just escalate situations.

Handle your business like a ****ing man. It's the equivalent to being the class tattle-tale.

The problem is accountability and oversight. Human nature is such that, if we are left unchecked, we'll all turn into Kim Jong Un. People are inherently weak, power leads to corruption, etc. And police have been given a pretty long leash, and still do get a long leash. It's extremely hard to convict a law enforcement officer of wrong doing, particularly in the course of their work on the beat, during a confrontation with someone, etc. So, we see that some take advantage of that, and do bad things. Others are great, and have a strong moral compass. But living in Louisiana, we've had our fair share of institutionalized corruption problems.

Police reform is happening across the country, but there's still a long way to go.
