It's Mark Millar tho, he's a ****ing *******.
I mean, this is the guy who wrote The Ultimates and Civil War - the darkest and edgiest crap ever.

I was with him from the title. Yet I disagree with all of his points completely. I would have agreed with the Superman comment, if Cap wasn't the best character in the MCU.

The characteds indeed aren't all cinematic because they haven't been built up in this universe.

Superman never fully completed his arch to become Superman. Batman was spot on, but had alot of mystery in his past.

Eveyone else was just thrown in.

Except for Wonder Woman. And she killed it in the box office

I guess he hasn't seen all the DC animated series and earlier animated films because they were able to nail the characters and tell great stories. Get the right people involved and DC films would rule the box office. Try to **** out films with an inconsistent story line while trying to play catch-up to Marvel with people merely dressed as the characters instead of acting like them and you get what you get. Mark Miller needs to shut his ****ing mouth and concentrate on his writing.

Right. I feel like Warner Bros decided to use “Man of Steel” as a springboard to start the DC cinematic universe, not because it was a runaway success but more because it was a Superman movie that happened to be out at the time that wasn’t a total disaster. After that, we got “Batman v Superman,” where I think Zach Snyder probably did have a lot of creative freedom, but for some reason, the studio decided had to both pit Batman against Superman but also serve as a precursor to their Justice League film. Creatively, that seemed like a weird place to pick as a starting point to me, but I do think at that point the director at least had control (or at least mostly). After the critical reception of “Batman v Superman,”though, it seems that Warner Bros has been micromanaging these films to their own detriment. I realize they’re trying to avoid another “Batman v Superman,” but at some point if they don’t trust their directors on these things, they’re going to turn out one bad film after another. Yes, there are a lot of people who didn’t like “Batman v Superman,” and there were some controversial character/story choices in there, but in the movies that come out since then, their interference hasn’t helped.

Yeah, pretty stupid of him to say that a stout-hearted hero from another era can't work in modern films. The success of Wonder Woman isn't even a year old, lol.

Honestly, I feel like Superman is more relevant than ever right now. I mean, he’s the ultimate immigrant, and, in today’s sociopolitical and cultural climate in America, I feel like he could work as well now as he ever could, if someone just had the right touch and was able to tap into that.

He's an immigrant who grew up knowing nothing but this country, but now, he's gotta go. . .

Seriously though, Millar is a bit of a putz. He got a great career for himself riding on the coattails of genuinely innovative and creative writers in Grant Morrison and Warren Ellis, and good for him for taking advantage of that. But I don't put stock into whatever he says.

The DC films don't work because they're crap movies in just about every way! Wonder Woman is the sole exception, where a competent filmmaker had a good script and decent actors, and the producers backed off enough that they didn't spoil the broth. The decision makers are WB are clueless, and until that changes nothing else matters.

Zod, Faora, Ursa, and Non? Krypton clearly isn't sending their best individuals. And Supergirl gets a pass just because she's related to Superman? How many times has Zod been sent to the Phantom Zone. We clearly need a better barrier between our dimension and that place. Somebody should build something. At the very least we should temporarily stop allowing Kryptonians to come to Earth until we can figure out just what the hell is going on.

I don't recall there being a law to allow "legal" aliens. . .from outer space. . .in this country. Martian Manhunter, Starfire, Mr. Miracle, G'Nort. . .get to stepping. And take your damn space pets with you!

The first and foremost issue is these people think of Murica when they talk about Superman.
He did fight for "Truth, Justice, and the American Way". . .but these concepts as they were understood by Jewish immigrants. Probably a bit different from the way folks in rural Arkansas understand them.

Too bad he didnt land in russia :/
