What if....

What if the solution for WB is to just stop with DC for a while. Forreal, just drop it, like nothing happened, let it cool down for a decade or so.

Fill that gap with something else in the meantime, because nobody cares for CBMs at the moment, unless done by Disney anyway.

Fill that gap with what? You ask.

Mortal Kombat of course.

They have Harry Potter though.

Aquaman doesn't need to be a megahit it just had to be a good movie that is loved by both fans and critics. Sames goes for Shazam and top that off with WW2 if they nail 3 hits in a row they are on the right track. Long term is the way to think not short term.

Yeah, that's what WB is hoping for. Movies that please the fans & critics, but don't make loads of cash... :dunno

I agree with what you are saying, but don't believe for a moment that's what the WB Execs discuss in their meetings.

If that had any truth to it, they would've done it right from the beginning. But no, they didn't want to build a cohesive universe where viewers cared about the characters. They skipped over the ground work and wanted to jump right into the Finale. They wanted to go right into the billion dollar blockbuster, which is that they thought BvS would be.

And how could it not??? Batman, Superman, & Wonder Woman ALL on the big screen together for the 1st time in history. The trinity of the most beloved DC characters in the world!!!..... Ok, that didn't work. So lets throw even more heroes in there. We'll give the fans the Justice League. We'll add The Flash, Aquaman & replace Green Lantern with Cyborg (who?) since the Green Lantern movie was a failure (cause we guess no one likes Green Lantern). They don't need their own movies first. But that's gonna take time, so lets make a movie about a group of Villains nobody has ever heard of before to hold them over. Even though it has nothing to do with the upcoming JL movie, but we'll throw in a cameo of The Batman, since people loooove them some Batman. And just for ****s & giggles we'll make a Wonder Woman movie (the fluke of the DCEU in that is was a decent movie) since the audience at least seemed to like her few moments in BvS. The audience will eat this **** up.....

The fact that Aquaman is even getting his own movie before Batman & The Flash is a total joke. And after Aquadude, we get to see Shazam then the eventual Black Adam.... Some of the most anticipated DC movies of all time... :cuckoo:

WB/DC's biggest failure was they were trying to make typical Hollywood movies, not Comic Book movies. They don't seem to understand the difference. The WB Execs must be crying themselves to sleep after IW in it's opening weekend out grossed JL's entire domestic run, and is already only a few $mil away from it's total worldwide gross. What a shame. :(

WB rushed it couple that with a divisive director Snyder the DCEU failed to deliver. Wb rushed like you said to get the trinity on the screen they are so famous they knew they would get some $$ out of it which they did from comic book fans but they didn't get the most important fans the general movie going audience.

I truly believe that WB is now going in the right direction. They have settled down with the massive 5 to 10 year movie slate and they only have 3 official movies. They have aquaman coming out ( i believe this is coming out soon because of how popular Jason Momoa is) they have Shazam coming out which is going to surprise alot of people especially if they push it as a stranger things type movie with a super hero. And they have WW2 coming out which is already a hit with the fans and with Patty at the helm she will produce another good movie. This to me is a good direction. Now leaving batman out of it is actually a smart idea. You want the whole universe to work not only Batman and Superman so if they cant get the rest of the universe to work and they need to hard reboot what better way to reboot with a Matt Reeves Batman trilogy.

Even with AOU being the weakest Avengers movie it’s a masterpiece when compared to JL.

The Vision Ultron dynamics alone and certain action set pieces blow away anything from that abomination especially with AOU being interwoven with future MCU movies.

You know what JL leads into.....a cry for a reboot that’s what lol

Not even a contest.
