Sounds easy, but the reason they didn't do that is because it's extremely hard to make a good movie that most people enjoy and makes a profit, just so that you can then take those characters and put them in an even bigger team up film. What Marvel pulled off is a miracle. Universal tried that idea twice with the Dracula film and the Tom Cruise Mummy film, and both failed, killing that cinematic universe, after they had announced a new Frankenstein film with Javier Bardem and the Invisible Man with Johnny Depp.

They even took a group pic....:lol

that will always be the saddest promo pic ive ever seen...

Great point. Terminator tried to kick start a new trilogy *twice* and couldn't even get people to care about even seeing the first movie. Even if a film is astoundingly good like BR 2049 there's no guarantee that they'll find enough of an audience to justify making even one single sequel let alone a 10 or 20 film connected universe. What Marvel did is one of the most amazing accomplishments in film history and it's not even something that anyone else can have guaranteed success with even if they follow the MCU's formula to the letter. It's mind boggling really.

yeah even Star wars cant keep up with Marvel, only a handful of movies into their new movie universe and they are already failing.... wont be long until Disney has to reboot the Star wars franchise... AGAIN....

What is Terminator? Seriously, what is that "universe" about? A machine that takes over the world and tries to win by changing the past. That's not a long term premise, it worked twice because of James Cameron, Arnold in his prime, and the cool special effects, and the overall iconography of the characters, but unless they change or evolve like those Fast & Furious films to the point the franchise becomes something else, I don't see a future, just more of the same with less charismatic actors playing the evil robot role.

the same thing goes for Star Wars... how many times can we see a group of rebels fighting the bit empire.... how many times.... the exact same plot in 10 movies.... holy crap...

Omg forget a reboot , forget a shared universe , forget all that hoopla and just make a single good movie. Even with the same actors nobody cares. Normal People can barely even tell that the spiderman movies aren't all connected ........

The same plots are told over and over again , I really don't think that's the problem. It's characters and set pieces that need to be updated ( in talking about these big blockbusters like Star Wars) . Force awakens was just a great competently made movie because of these things.

It’s so easy to make a good terminator movie. Make a damn human vs robot war type movie. And not the **** salvation did with it being the same old movie just in an apocalyptic setting .

Right because Bay did such a bang up job with that one.

Except that was a poorly made mess that focused on humans fighting robots when the robots are supposed to be the stars. And no one was invested in the human characters what so ever.

Also Michael bay

But isn't that what Terminator is, a war with humans against robots?

I've already forgotten what my point was but JL was terrible. :lol

I’m not hyped for Aquaman can you help me Gaspar I want to be lol

Is anybody? :lol

I'm obviously in need of intensive psychotherapy but I'm more hyped for AM than I was for IW (which I still have no immediate plans to see). Call it Marvel burnout.

But then I thought BvS > CW so go figure. I'm just biased towards DC characters (plus I thought Snyder gave us a more "epic" mythology rather than a straight CBM).

From a business point of you view it is not worth rebooting. They have a good cast they just need to get the movies right. They know WW is going to make good money for another 2 movies if they reboot they not only lose the cast but they lose the directors. You are forgetting all the movies made money and only JL not making a profit but i believe it broke even. They can afford to keep tweaking to get the universe right.

Rebooting will not fix the universe they can reboot and keep doing the same **** again and fail what's the point of that? Keep what you got and keep trying to get it right.

rebooting it wont fix the script problems
or the director problems

Exactly so there is no point of rebooting it just keep the same cast and fix the script and director problems. If they don't fix that nothing will work for them.

In my opinion, it really doesn't matter what they try or do/fix at this point. Aquaman is not gonna wow the masses, nor will Shazam!. If audiences have given up at this point, the only way to get them back in the theater is time and a reboot. Continuing to release movies a good portion of the fan base/public are not excited about, makes no sense and just seems desperate. They'll continue to make things worse. By sheer dumb luck they'll wind up eventually making a great movie (that movie was NOT Wonder Woman), but few people will see it so it won't matter. Aquman will most likely be the lowest grossing DCEU movie to date. Whether it's good or bad.

They'd be better off just going back to making stand alone individual movies. Their "experiment" has been a failure.

I disagree.

There is no instant fix to get it right but they don't need to do that. All they need to do is produce good movies win over the critics which will win over the fans. You are saying aquaman is not going to wow the masses it doesn't need to. It needs to be a good movie which is liked by the fans and critics if it makes 600m and is a good movie that is a win for WB. Then Shazam needs to be a good movie which is liked by the fans and critics and so on.

MCU didn't hit the ground running its first few movies either they had to win over the fans and had a few misses on the way and they did it.

^^^^ this is very true , they just need to be good movies. No big deal , no reason to reboot or recast. That's the worst thing they could do.

They are already heading in another direction (got rid of Snyder) got Hamada in etc WB is a massive studio that know how to make good movies i do have faith they will get the DCEU right.

Good solid safe non divisive movies is the first step.

By the way if they don't annouce and start work on a man of steel 2 and a batman movie by the end of 2019 that means in my books that WB has question marks over the DCEU and will save those movies esepcially batman and reboot the DC universe with a Mat Reeves trilogy.
