Darkseid. . .should be the villain in a Legion of Superheroes or New Gods movie first. But whateva. There are plenty of villains the JLA can fight in sequels. Injustice Gang/Legion of Doom (with either Luthor or Vandal Savage leading) would be the most obvious. Others are Starro, Amazo, Eclipso, the Anti-Monitor, the Crime Syndicate, etc. There are hundreds and hundreds of great JLA stories that can be tapped into for ideas, of course.

DC is great, but you have to admit that Marvel Studios set up the Avengers movie pretty perfectly with all the predecessor movies, hints, and character cameos. The build up was pretty great. I'd love to see DC do the same thing, but I don't know if it'd be possible at this point.

Isn't it the fact that MARVEL set up their own studio the main factor there? They were able to make their own films is that right?

DC might be able to do some of what MARVEL did but AOL/Warner own them right and so if they wanna tweak something so they can sell more batman underpants then they will. I mean if I were a Hollywood exec I'd be looking at what MARVEL did and say to the DC guys 'Do what they just did' but you know they will want to mess with it somehow.

Oooh, head to head superteam vs. Thanos/Darkseid movies. Too bad for WB that A2 will have May locked as a release date and they'll look like the johnny-come-latelies.

And that will be a hard hurdle for them to jump over.

Sad, but probably true. I'm hoping it'll turn out good. My money is still on TA2 at the moment. Marvel has the momentum with no signs of slowing down. Anyway, Marvel 4 life with me. But I'll still always like Supes and Bats!

They only did the 8 year thing for two reasons.

1. Ledger died (they wanted audiences and characters to move on from the idea that Joker was absent)

2. Joseph Levitt Gordon (His character would be useless if it was only a few years after TDK because he'd still be a kid)

The Justice League is in a world of hurt because other than seeing the heroes together, Avengers isn't that good of a movie.

Well last year they formed a label to do just that - it was implied that it would shepherd the DC characters just as Marvel Studios has on their side- with creating a greater over arching strategy for the characters in all media. Funny that we haven't seen anything out of that yet though.

Just imagine a Justice League movie with a Cavill Superman (assuming he doesn't suck) flying through a city punching giant aliens while Christian Bale Batman is taking out alien fighters in "The Bat" with Reynolds GL doing his ring construct thing as all hell is breaking loose. Yeah the alien invasion thing is fresh from the Avengers but people didn't mind that we'd seen a similar invasion in Dark of the Moon when Avengers came out.

WB/DC has *got the ingredients,* they just need to pay whatever it takes to make it happen. And it would be beyond huge.

Fixed and . Battle For Los Angeles, there was that other one with the invisible aliens that turned people into ashes, etc. It's been done, and Avengers even did it well despite the whole TPM ending.
