Digging my way out!
Capes are very hard to do, with risky outcomes. Took me a long time to get my Keaton 89 to any form of satisfaction. I have Henry's AMAZING Returns figure and it has a decent cape, but I would call the cape that figure's shortcoming. It's cut very well, has great BR style points which are very deep scallops, and seamed in several places, and so has a special shoulder area foldover accounted for. It hangs well enough, but, like many custom capes, is a typical thin pleather, that in 1/6 scale is not all that weighted, so it doesn't really drape. It hangs ok though when posed just right. It is a little stiff around the shoulders, again, a curse of many 1/6 capes, so some thinner material is an answer in future to me.
Once, a while back, years ago, I saw a unique Returns custom (or maybe a set of them?), on Ebay, that used some kind of really thin real leather that had a special name which eludes me. It was REALLY soft and heavy looking for it's thin-ness, and actually looked a bit glossy, but looks really nice and hangs great in 1/6th. That material would be my choice if a production one was made by any company. But what kind of leather it really is, is currently a mystery to me. Maybe someone else knows. I've been after it for years.
If I find pictures of it (it was an old auction), I will post them. Wicked stuff!
Anyway, Batman movie capes. Yeah. Tough to do.
