Nice pics gboy and congrats on a great figure. Looks better than the HT Bats IMHO.
I will be getting another one from Shawn with the improved head for sure now.

I totally agree... the paint work really makes a huge difference compared to the HT. And the Keaton just looks so much more intense.

And because someone asked for it... a comparison shot with other heroes. Personally if I had to choose between the Hot Toys Begins and this one, Shawn's would win hands down!​

Your cape open day shot shows the thighs nicely, I was on the fence with those saying they looked to thick, but they look fine to me, can't wait to see it. I have to say, HT BB Bats looks like one of HT's weaker turn outs, especially compared to their better pieces and Shawn's awesome work

HT did a great job on the outfit and other parts of Batman, but the head sculpt and lack of paint really hurts it. I think with a bit of work it could be awesome looking. But still in comparing the two side by side Shawn's just looks so much nicer.

And you can see a lot of work went into making the exposed face very lifelike.

I feel the same now. HT BB Bats was a "long list" figure for me--mostly b/c I didn't wanna pay for the Takara--but that thing looks awful next to Shawn's Keaton. What's funny is that I've seen all 3 BB Bats side by side and at one point said, "Yeah, Takara's is the best--but Hot Toys is a good enough version for me." Now I'm not so sure.

Not Keaton related, but does anyone have the Medicom Batman Begins, I have a chance to pick it up, and Takara is well beyond me, I was wondering if it was worth my money.

Man, I really don't like the design of the neck for BB Bats! I'm just realizing how clunky it looks. Makes the Hot Toys figure look like a Mattel figure at first glance.

I never thought I'd say it but slade is right, Shawn's Bats makes HT Batman look very toyish when they're side by side.

The fact that Shawn's looks so nice even under the scrutiny of direct sunlight is a testament to what an awesome job he did on him, especially considering the rate that he's been turning them out.
Man I can't wait to get my (second) Batman figure from Shawn now.

You have the BB figure right Coco? I still don't think he's a terrible figure and out of the 3 Begins figures I prefer the HT version, but again a testament to the quality of Shawn's work.

And Maul, I'd stay away from the Medicom... I think (besides DCD which no one really counts) he's the worst. Kinda looks like a boy in a Batman costume and is very small. Out of the 3 high-end BB figures he is the cheapest to obtain and there is a reason.

Thanks for the heads up, I bought the DCD figure back when I first got into SSC and Hot Toys and didn't know about HT or Medi or Takara bats, and from the descriptions at online stores of it, I was expecting SSC quality and it was a totally overpriced piece of **** not worth more than $20, it didn't even look great for a display item.

Yeah I've got HT's BB fig and, don't get me wrong, I really like it but looking at Shawn's next to it in your photo it doesn't look nearly as realistic as Keaton Bats.

I completely agree... and I'd rather have a great looking Keaton than Bale anyday of the week
