Re: Keaton Batman

The one on the far left is V1 and it's proportions are nice in hand except for the large thighs and slightly long neck. V3 has more of a Keaton look to it since Shawn improved the neckline on the sculpt.

I do think that V3 has a slightly larger head than normal and at certain angles it looks it especially since the height was reduced. V3 head on V1 body with V3 legs would look the best to me.

And grange, I did ask Shawn for an extra belt which he said he would send but he never did.:monkey2

V3 left and V1 right in this pic...

Shawn's retooling on the neck makes such a difference in the capture of the film look.

Re: Keaton Batman

Thank you for keeping posting all those photographs :)

Apart from the material, haven't V2 and V3 the same sculpt?

Re: Keaton Batman

I agree.... That V3 neck really makes it look just like in the film. And the fact that he cannot look sideways, was that way in the film as well. :lol

This figure, to me, is exactly how I want it. He looks like Keaton in that film, the closest I have ever seen in figure form. I'm so floored by it, the photos I took were so much fun. The light source, depending on where you aimed it from.. really give it so many possible looks. It's a joy to have on the shelf. :rock

Now I just need to make my own custom Batman to join him...

Re: Keaton Batman

Ya, someday I need to pick up one of those LED lights like a lot of people have in their display cabinets, it's a good, subtle light source for subjects like Batman and Aliens where you want highlights just to show the forms but not have them blatantly exposed, like your shorts and grangewallis, they both have that nice, just give an indication of the muscluature and such quality, which I love about your shots, the figure's ability to replicate, and Burton's style of filming.

Same here. I really need a few of those lights.

For my shots, I used a LED booklight that I have. I wanted to give it that low-light look, just barely hitting the sculpted musculature of the figure. As you correctly stated, that was how Burton filmed it, and that is the best way to bring out the realism of this figure. Once you have that light, it's almost like having a miniature Keaton in a tiny movie set, all on your shelf. :rock

Re: Keaton Batman

Shawn,

Hate to take this out to the board but since my PM and e-mails aren't being answered...can I get an update from you on where my figures are at? Are they still in the process of being worked on or shipped? I paid back on 11/18 and I still have not received them if they were shipped and peeps in the group after me have theirs now. I have another custom that I ordered at the same time (Returns version) which I asked if it would be a problem with your work load (and you said it wasn't at the time) so I don't know if that is holding things up (trying to apply your upgrade to the Returns version as well??)

The last response I received to an e-mail was back on Dec. 28th that didn't address my concerns. It just said you were just about done with the next batch of figures but nothing regarding my order in specific.

I sent this PM on 12/31 which I have received no response to even though you have been on the board since then.

Hey Shawn,

Hate to keep asking but have my figures shipped out yet? I see other guys in my group have received theirs and even another guy in the group after mine has as well. I don't know if the Returns Batman is holding up the process or if I have a lost package floating around in limbo.

If you could just shoot me a quick PM back for my peace of mind I would appreciate it.

Thanks, Nathan

Then I sent another e-mail last week after you said you had the list updated with no response yet.

Just to be clear, I am not upset that other have their figures before me and I know you have been busy but I don't know if they are lost or if you haven't sent them yet. I am not getting a satisfactory answer from you either way. I just want to know if I have $250+ of lost figures that need to be tracked down. I am a little concerned as that would be my luck that they are lost.

I am sure now that I asked publicly they will show up tomorrow...

Re: Keaton Batman

You just got yourself on the bottom of the list as of now! :lol

J/k, I', sure shawn will get back to you soon enough. He's probably on the cusp of getting your figure finished!

Yeah DA & Maulfan those LED "Dot it" lights are great and I highly recommend them!

I hope so all these pictures of these awesome figures are killing me and makes the wait and uncertainty that much worse.

Re: Keaton Batman

Yes they run of Batteries. I got them from a big Hardware chain in Australia called Bunnings. They are called "Dot it" lamps try a Home Depot in the lighting section.

Re: Keaton Batman

WOW! this thread seems to have exploded overnight. wicked wicked pics DA and CBB. thanks so much for posting! finally get some shots of V3 - and it looks incredible! really love the new look. CBB, is the height difference that great? is he still OK compared to other 12" or the custom joker you have?

Natrix, I hope you get yours soon, buddy. Probably for quite selfish reasons - i want to see pics of the returns version :D But also, waiting for a normal fig is intense, for this one it must be agony. So I hope it turns up soon.

oh, and tis seems like a good price for some lights, especially if you want quite a few:

He's shorter than my Nicholson Joker now. :monkey2 I know Keaton is short but it bothers me to have Batman shorter than Joker. I may try to find a new body for Nicholson so that they're at least the same height.

It's the difference of material used the V2 is cast in Resin and the V3 is in Rubber or latex. Only diff!

Just to clarify. The V3's head is cast in resin but the cowl is cast in latex. They are actually two pieces. Shawn did a fantastic job getting the cowl to have a tight fit around the resin head.
Personally I prefer the clean look of the solid resin head. Latex always seems to have imperfections and little "boogers" in areas like the ears of the cowl.

Re: Keaton Batman

Glad to see you guys are liking the V3:D Coco, I have no idea why he is shorter than your V2. The only reason the V2 might have been taller is because I had to cut off the foot and part of the leg to get the old style boots on. But even then, I've always lined up the point of the boot with the edge of the kneepad, So I can't how a discrepency could have happened there. Looking at your sise-by-side photos it seems like every point lines up until you get to the head. I think the V3 heads might be seated just a bit lower because they actually fit properly. The resin heads never did, so they tended to sit higher. That's also why there are often gaps between the cape and cowl, and that's a major reason why I wanted to switch to a softer material. The neck is actually the same length from V1 thru V3. When I made it wider starting with V2, it made it appear shorter. They're all built on the same body, too. I'm really scratching my head as to where that height difference comes from. I wonder what body your Joker is on, if he's taller. Can't be a Dragon. And I had forgotten who had requested the additional belt. Email your address, I'll get that out to you.

NATRIX PM sent. Sorry for missing those.

And on that note I'm now off to respond to the TEN PM's I just realized I have:monkey3
Cheers,
Shawn

Re: Keaton Batman

I think your exactly right about where my V3 lost it's height. The boot and the fact the V3 head sits a little lower and better on the shoulders. No biggy though. It never would have been an issue other than I'm so fanatical about this character  and that I'll be displaying him next to Jack who is a bit taller...for now.:D

And no worries on the belt. If you have an extra you can toss it in with my V2 resin heads order and just let me know what I owe you.

So the man already has a V1, V3 and Rojas Batman... and still needs additional V2 heads? You sir are a fanatic :rock
