Re: Keaton Batman

Hey, guys. I've got four Bats flying out of here between Saturday and Monday. The rest will be shipping over next week. Took a while to get bodies. I had ordered a butt-load of them and the vendor couldn't fill the order. My email on that account was an old one I don't use, so I wasn't getting his email notifications asking how I wanted him to proceed with the order. Got that straightened out now, big box o' bodies now in-hand!

Saw a question a few posts ago.... yes, eventually I will retool the RETURNS version. It's just a matter of finding the time to do it. It's a pretty extensive overhaul that I want to do.

Thanks for all your continued patience, I really appreciate it. I've got so much on my plate right now I don't wreather to scratch my watch or wind my butt. Sometimes this "machine" needs a little scheduled maintainence:eek:

Great news. Do we have an updated group list? Or is the previous one on page 1xx the latest one?

Re: Keaton Batman

Same here, a Returns Batman resembling your '89 portrait would look stunning. For the most part it's the same, maybe just reworking the existing mold to have the straight head to shoulder look of Returns would be enough, and the straighter bat ears. The armor on your old figure looked great, just the portrait pales compared to your '89.

me too! once its been reworked i wanna bit on that list! but i actually prefer the sculpt as it is now. it looks very very human and realistic (perhaps not 100% keaton but still pretty amazing). The only thing i would say is that i thought the returns suit was more of a very dark grey than a straight black. And the cape seemed a lighter, less rubbery, more plasticy glossy material without any texture. could be wrong though.

Hard to say on the color, Returns was a much brighter film. A lot of the scenes had a white glow from the snow, so it looks lighter, but in the darker scenes it lookd pretty black to me.

I prefer this head, is it still active?

That is a MUCH better/more accurate Keaton sculpt.

Re: Keaton Batman

I'm pretty sure that's the same sculpt as you put down, other than the curve of the sides and back of the cowl, but the face and mouth area look the same.

So you're saying that awesome Keaton sculpt is the same as the Soverign Studios one?

I'm sorry, but the head is the ONLY thing I don't like on that figure.

Ya, the one you first quoted is a Sovereign Studios Keaton, from a couple years ago.

We refer to it in this thread as the V1, it's resin. Shawn took note of some of our comments regarding the shape of the cowl on the sidez of the neck and modified that part, creating the V2, which was also resin. After making a few figures with the V2 head, Shawn found a way to put a rubber cowl over a figure head to make the V3. Same mold as the V2, but slightly improved means of adding the head and cowl to the figure.

I'm sorry but I love it, especially since that is MY Keaton. :D

Aren't you the guy who posted a thread slamming "Aliens" too? :rotfl

Different strokes...

Then I guess I like the V1 the best.

And for the record, I didn't really "slam" Aliens, I just posted my dislikes with the film and why I personally couldn't get into it.:D

Re: Keaton Batman

Freaks Board V1 on the left.

Woffords '05/06 Batman sculpt does look to be slightly different than what we are calling the V1. I assume it's because the molds used for making these have worn out and been redone over the years or Shawn has made some intentional changes to it.
Either way it is different. Especially the position of the Bat emblem, the distance between the nose and lips and the overall shape of the mouth and chin area in respects to the Freaks board V1.

ah, you could be right buddy. there are a few pics on this thread where the suit looks completely different colors in different pictures. it probably was entirely black. but i think i'd like a slightly grey one just to represent what it looked like and the feel it had in the film. and also to differentiate it slightly from the 89 version.

Re: Keaton Batman

Yeah, the headsculpt on mine is a completely different from the V.1, V.2 ,or V.3. I believe mine was a cast from a custom statue kit. Mine is also not resin, it's rubber.

Try reading the thread perhaps?

There is a post from Shawn that details the articulation and I put up many pictures of mine without a stand.

Try reading the thread ?? you have to be kidding right? :google

Have you noticed that this thread goes for 148+ pages! ... Crikey !! :lol

I can understand why someone would ask directly. I have this figure on order too with Shawn, and if I need to know something about it you can bet I will be asking directly.

How about next time you can be a little more helpful to a new member and maybe post a direct link to your post in this thread.

As the board member who posted pics up on this thread, I assume you know what page they are on, so how about a page number at least for a reference point.

cheers
