Re: Keaton Batman

Try reading the thread ?? you have to be kidding right? :google

Have you noticed that this thread goes for 148+ pages! ... Crikey !! :lol

I can understand why someone would ask directly. I have this figure on order too with Shawn, and if I need to know something about it you can bet I will be asking directly.

How about next time you can be a little more helpful to a new member and maybe post a direct link to your post in this thread.

As the board member who posted pics up on this thread, I assume you know what page they are on, so how about a page number at least for a reference point.

cheers

I only have 38 pages because of how I have my threads set up. :D

Wasn't trying to be a dick but it really isn't that hard to work your way backward from the newest post and go back 8-10 pages to find the answers that have been discussed multiple times before and the newest pictures (my pictures start on posts 1377, 1388, 1389 BTW).

Good stuff Natrix.

I know that it wasn't deliberate, however sometimes "net etiquitte" can go too far and almost border on being snobbish. Nothing irks me more than the constant posts telling new members to do a search, or to wade through endless posts looking for that one elusive bit of information. We have to remember that sometimes not only are the new members new to these forums, they may be fairly new to forums in general.

By the way mate, those are some awesome looking pictures that you posted earlier in the thread :) You know what, because you listed the post numbers, I went straight to them. There are so many posts going on at the Sideshow Freaks boards that it is easy to miss important information or just straight out cool pictures, like yours.

The comparison shots you posted make me want this amazing figure even more, and you also answered guyver1's questions which I am sure he appreciates. :rock

Cheers

Re: Keaton Batman

:monkey4 Okay guys I know the thread well, Natrix your pics are truely fantastic, However I would like to see more articulated posed pics, such as running, jumping, crouching in attack poses etc.

Here's the deal, I have been collecting 12" action figures for over 20 yrs now, I also as a hobby, I paint and sculpt models and vinyl kits, I love collecting custom figures as well:D

I believe that the more a custom figure looks like the real thing, then I think the creator made a masterpiece. That's why Shawn's work is one of a kind , and truely collectible,

Look at it this way, the more people make pics of pieces like bats V3, the more people would purchase, giving shawn increased sales and business, as well as make more new members to the thread groups:eek:

I'm not asking for much am I? Natrix if it is a problem, I know others like Maul Fan and Wookster could post some more dynamic posed pics to help us all out.

If anyone agrees with this, please respond asap!! :D

Re: Keaton Batman

Guyver, here's some of my more dynamic stuff I've done. I own the V2, so my posing is a bit limited by the resin cowl points. I'd love to get the V3 for it's features, but it doesn't fit in the budget anytime soon when my only motivation is a little extra articulation. As far as appearance, I'm totally thrilled with the V2.

C'mon people more v3 pics please, let's really impress shawn with this thread:eek:

Re: Keaton Batman

Just dropped this into the Newt thread:

Sorry, guys:eek: I'm still alive and neck deep into all the projects I've got going with you. I've just been really bogged down and haven't been around the boards lately. I have to force myself to stay away, or I'll spend 3 hours reading stuff before I realize what I've done and I don't have time for that right now. The kids have been sick, so THAT'S been a big help!:monkey4

Just replied to a couple PM's, saw my box was full. So if you've PM'ed my in the last week or so and I didn't get back to you, you may want to try again. I don't think new messages go through when the box is full. And if you can't reach me through the board, email me: [email protected]

The Batman figures are coming soon, I promise you! I seem to be having to make new plaster molds every 4 or 5 figures. I'm realizing now why most custom Halloween masks are usually limited editions.

I also figured out a weird thing about the face/cowl that I'm correcting. It may be the reason some of you prefer the old face, despite the goofy grin. On the current insert head, I didn't cut the chin in sharp enough. The neck has too much slope from the chin to where the Adam's apple would be, and it stretches the opening in the cowl into a subtle "V" shape. I'm fixing that. No problem, it's a quick Dremel solution:D

Re: Keaton Batman

Good Stuff Shawn.

I am really looking forward to getting this figure. Thanks for the update and the continuous evolution that you are doing to this figure to make him better and better.

cheers mate :)

V4...!

:D

Re: Keaton Batman

I never got a whole V3 figure. I only got a couple resin casts of the V2 head from Shawn. Hopefully I'll be able to piece together a custom with a V2 sculpt by this summer.

Edit: I never got a whole V2 figure. I have a whole V3 Bats. :rock

You didn't, I thought I saw you post pictures of your v1 and a V3 standing side by side?

Re: Keaton Batman

That's just sick :lol More power to ya Coco :rock

:eek::eek: Yeah, I'm really fanatical about this character.

You didn't, I thought I saw you post pictures of your v1 and a V3 standing side by side?

Oops! I meant I have a couple V2 sculpts. I do have a whole V3 figure.

There's too many versions! I'm getting confused!:lol

I have a V1, two V2 head sculpts and a V3 Bats. I also have a Rojas' Bats but Shawn's puts it to shame.

Re: Keaton Batman

I don't think a slight neck modification counts as a V4, but I do hope mine is in the "V4" group. :D

Well by that logic, there was never a v2 either. V2 was just a widening of the cowl neck and a slight tweak of how the cowl runs into the bat symbol.

Didn't know that, I thought V2 was the one that had a better sculpted head, that must be V3 then.

v1 = Base figure for the Freaks deal.
v2 = v1 with modified cowl neck and Bat symbol connection
v3 = v2 with rubber cowl over resin head, soft boots for ankle articulation
v4 = v3 with modified chin region

Subtle, progressive differences so they can be hard to keep up with.

Re: Keaton Batman

So with all this V4 talk, will there actually be a noticeable difference from the current V3? Or is the head gonna look the same?

:google

I thought V1 was Shawn's original urethane Batman, like I have from 2003?

V1 = original
V2 = new sculpt resin - what was first delivered to the Freaks
V3 = new sculpt urethane cowl
V4 = new sculpt with altered chin/neck

Is that not right?
