Nowhere near that bad
This at least seemed to be the movie the director intended on making, it's just a bad movie.
But I can certainly see some people enjoying it they think the action is good. To me, the action was fine, but didn't really do anything for me. I wasn't a fan of the last Godzilla film but I did enjoy his final battle at the end, I never got that feeling watching the action in Kong.

from all the previews I'M not going to like John Goodman and going to hate Samuel Jackson in this... too bad SJ has decided to go the token big mouth route in everything now.He's the you have already seen him do this actor.IMO he's not helping himself taking every role he can get as the same stereotypical personification of himself.Yeah' maybe he needs the $ I don't know.
I really hope I'M wrong about him in this, but then again if the Film is bad it doesn't really matter.

part of me wants to see this, but then again, kinda over 'big ass monster' movies......thank Pacific Rim for that!

Mondo prints going up online tomorrow
I'm actually a bit led down by the Mondo poster on this one, especially compared to Mondo's offerings for Godzilla.
Yeah I was hoping Francavilla would've had something better. I have Petrie's Godzilla
The first 3 Godzilla 2014 pieces from Mondo were amazing, there was a fourth, strange one. The style looks good on the Kong, the composition is just strange.
This one was the best of the whole Godzilla poster campaign in my eyes.
In comparison, I just don't feel like Kong holds up to these.

The artist and Kong was a good fit, but end result?
I just don't like the stretched out aspect of Kong's body and the way he's sort of leaning on the ocean hovering over the island. I think they were going for a god of SKull Island concept but it just doesn't translate as well for me, but like Kong's face, the detail work in his fur, the helicopters, the text, they all work for me. It's like having all the right ingredients for an awesome recipe but somehow it just doesn't come out right.
Still the best
Of those 3, I definitely agree, I prefer the roaring Kong from the sepia poster with Sam L Jackson, but there's mostly flame and not much Kong, and the silver one he's a bit too stoic.
That's how Fitzgerald is. Either it's all background, or all character. But he still nails about everything I've seen from him
