Yeah G14 is definately not in the same league as JAWS, that would be crazy talk.

GINO2014 was oversimplified yet way too bleak. The plot was very campy but the tone... complete opposite. That's why the whole thing felt like boring crap.
KSI has problems with human characters but overall it's a well-thought-out film that knows how to handle campy stuff. Also this time you can actually see monsters and beautiful visuals.

Yeah, that killed me w/ 2014. Too dark to make out ****. How that wasn't caught or anyone thought that was going to be well-received is unforgivable.

The guy on the left echoed some of my points (except I liked SLJ) but I just don't have that kind of energy to argue one way or another on this film.
The visuals were really, really, good I'll give it that. And I did like how the final battle was filmed mostly from low angles with those huge waves of water being splashed around. That was pretty unique and realistic looking (physics-wise.)Yes!!! I felt bad for forgetting the name of the character from such an otherwise memorable scene but I knew it was a weird name I'd never heard before.
No it definitely isn't but I still give props to Edwards for swinging for the fences.

That's ok because what does matter with G14 is that the battles felt so real.
G14 actually feels like a real drama with big monsters involved.
Kong feels like a SNL skit.

Yeah, and every scene with Godzilla is just pure awesome (Hawaii airport, Golden Gate bridge, final battle.) You just have to be willing to stick it out to get to those moments.

The MUTOS in San Fran looked and felt so powerful and menacing with how they destroyed all the infrastructure around them.

Totally off topic, but Jye, what the hell is your sig, dude? For the life of me I can't figure it out. I see the Batman symbol, and what seems to be his face separated on each side. But what are those spines (claws?)?

That is a closeup of my SS 1/6 Wolverine.
No kidding.... It's almost unwatchable on Blu ray it's so dark. If you watch the Special Features the scenes look much better.
On the Blu ray you can't even tell this is happening because you can't see Godzilla
I thought the guy onthe left sounded like you and the guy on the right like me. I saw it and had to post it because the arguments were similar.
Swinging for the fences is great... But it's still a strike out if you miss.
I wish they got someone to reshoot G14 like they did Rogue One
I can tell what's happening on the blu-ray just fine but of course I make sure not to watch it in a brightly lit room (as I do with pretty much all movies.)
Oh I know and that video made me chuckle too but I just thought it worth mentioned that I'm not remotely that heated about his topic.
Oh I wouldn't say that Edwards flat out missed. He nailed some of the most important moments in the film in fact. But yeah, no grand slam like RO.

Can't figure out why pics are coming in so small.

Khev... Do you have the 3D version on Blu Ray???? I have been reading that both the 3D and the 2D verisons on the 3D disc look brighter then the regular Blu ray...... There are even side by side videos out there.. Might have to get this again if that is the case.
