Yep, plus the cinematography, Lange's outfit, her being drugged until she slowwwly raises her head and instantly sobers up. And the compositing with the Kong suit, trees, and Lange still holds up today. One of the few movies from decades past that my kids watched and said, "Dad, how'd they *do* that???"

Yeah, there are some composite shots from that film whoch hold up remakebly, though even '33 has some where I'm like, how'd they pull that off back then.

I also like the '76 natives best of all 4 films, they had a good mix of being scary while also seeming like they have normal life beyond the ceremony. PJs rank low for me, they just felt like they only came out to scare people away or hold ceremony, there was no sense of life to the village.

Yeah he looks goofy up close. :lol

He eats a guy and it looks comical.

I spent almost 2 decades only knowing the '76 Kong so by the time I saw the '33, there were moments that just felt too comical for me.

Although nothing comical in G54.

I wouldn't say comical but even Gojira has flaws, some of the puppet shots just look too different from the suit. With Kong though, there are times even like the music makes me laugh a little because it sounds more like something out of an old school Disney movie and I wait for Mickey to show up.

Some of my favorite shots of 1954 are the puppet though. The true radioactive nightmare. Those eyes:
