how is it man ?
I cant wait to play this game.

You have had it for almost 9 hours, got to give us something. :D

I had to be at school. It's fantastic. Gameplay's smooth, acting is top shelf, Graphics are stunning, and L.A is gorgeous. As for the Rockstar pass, I'll let you know once the Playstation store is back up.

It's a good game. I'd say it's weaker than both GTA IV and Red Dead but that doesn't make it bad. It's solid. My complaints are how choppy it is. It's constantly going in and out of some sort of load or episode. It never really flows. The technology is stunning. It'll be hard to play another game without this level of facial animation. It really does need to be seen. The graphics also look a lot better than any video I've seen online. I've played for a few hours today but that's my quick assessment.

Yep, I agree 100% with you. I just came on to comment on LA Noire and you couldn't of said it better than me. I've also only played a couple hours but I found the intro very choppy but now I am in Traffic and doing a big case and its flowing a lot better. It's a fantastic game and I am really excited for the bigger cases. To those who want a rampage game like Red Dead or GTA IV then don't buy this game because its very slow and detail oriented, but very rewarding and entertaining if you like that kind of thing.

Played a bit today. For me it's just okay. It's no where near as brilliant as Red Dead Redemption and that disappoints me.

I have two problems with the game so far, interrogations and searching for clues. It's not that the interrogations are even hard, they're confusing and misleading. I've finally figured out that "Doubt" is for more information and "Lie" should only be used for evidence but it still doesn't make sense.

It just doesn't feel like I'm making an impact in the game play. The game lets you continue, even if you're wrong and you just go through the motions like it's a movie story game, similar to an RPG. You get this creative mindset in the cases and try to think but you're just not really in control of it, whether you're right or wrong.

Wasnt a huge GTA or Red Dead fan. Pass for me. Glad too! Can't afford another game. :lol

Yeah, this is how I feel so far too. I haven't gotten anywhere yet, so hopefully, this changes. I wasn't expecting GTA level of freedom, but I thought I'd have more control over the story and cases.

you guys are making me regret buying this today...haven't had a chance yet to play it....hopefully I can log some hours this weekend....

:gah: I know its pissing me off too - I haven't got that far yet but yeah there is freedom but not like GTA freedom . Which is a change in pace but i hope at some point in the game you don't have to stick to the script.

the game is awesome , i like how Cole is bigger on screen (he's closer to the camera) than all other Rock* games characters.

The Graphics and Physics are insane .

The Cars handle great , Running is awesome too.

The only thing i hate is the fact i can't change the button layout .

I have been playing GTA since GTAIII with the same controls right up to GTAIV and now learning different buttons suck ass deeeek :wave

Ok, played the first 3 missions, but still thinking about that first one. You find the gun owner, then search his blue book - find a name that I didnt recognize, but murder was solved? What the heck happened there? And that's the first mission....LORD

PS3 or SexBox?

360.

So far really impressed with the game. Graphics and story are as good as Red Dead right now I think and better than any of the GTA games. Really gotta pay attention to how people talk to you so you can figure out if they're playing ya or not.

I played for about 3 hours tonight.

I see some folks here comparing this game with Rockstar's previous efforts, but in all fairness there isn't much of a comparison because the gameplay style in L.A.N is radically different from GTA or RDR. I'm glad it isn't like either of those games. If anything I get a Shenmue mixed with Phoenix Wright vibe when playing this and only the open city and driving make me think of GTA.

+face animation system is very impressive.
+good voice acting, music
+interesting cases so far
+well rendered city
+foot chases are cool
-L.A. is dead. So much effort put into rendering this environment and it doesn't offer much (so far)
-unskippable cutscenes
-interrogation system takes some time to figure out although at first impression it is not as intricate as I was lead to believe but perhaps I haven't gotten the hang of it yet? I dunno.
-framerate dips

well l played the game for 4 hours. l must say there are good things about it and bad.

GOOD
different type of game we haven't seen before.
amazing facial expressions.
interrogations are fun.
long game compared to most these days.
great voice work and music

BAD
the game does get boring after a while.
every homicide is basicly the same, gather evidence, interrogate them, look at their facial expressions and ask question, and repeat.
gameplay isn't that great. not anywhere near as fun as GTA or as good.
gameplay graphics aren't all the great. the enviroment and cars.
no life in the city.

it's worth a rent though. just my opinions.

Ooh looks like this game is My cup of tea. I enjoyed heavy rain.

Do you think its worthwhile purchasing? I rented heavy rain and finished it in one weekend..is la noir the same length?

l don't think it's worth buying. it doesn't have much replay value. it is a long game 20 hours or so.
