The trick will be to get the knife without getting stuck paying for the figure. And although they're releasing a lot of stuff, their pre-orders up to now have been years in coming.

The sculpt looks good but the likeness has been done much better and is that meant to be the Henley T Shirt?

Looks great brother. I think you did an excellent job. Only paints on this I've seen are Corrose and Maximus, and yours looks great too.

Good luck with those tiny *** hinges.

Looks like something John Rambo carries..

It wasn't until you said this that I realized there's some kind of handle added to what I thought was the whole knife. The part painted to look like metal is only 2/3 of it. (Dark monitor settings here.) I'm always curious what Allclad metal paint will do for a plastic piece, and I'm still going to watch for other photographs of this knife. But this is looking like it needs a lot of work for something that will, in the end, only be similar to the screen one, and never a match.

On the whole, Kumik has been a distressing story. What started out as a promising sculpt shop (see Lalla's Salt repaint of their first Jolie sculpt) soon became bogged down in delayed full figures and unfilled pre-orders. And now there's a near flood of promised releases while the old pre-orders are still unfilled. Their latest heads are being offered on eBay through Headplay, which has had its own descent from promising sculpt shop to recaster. Not an encouraging connection.

I only brought Kumik up here because Chris was clearly interested in the other knife that is seemingly beyond reach for latecomers. I'm sorry I've derailed his thread now. There's a thread at OSW devoted to ripping Kumik. This one should stick to the Corrose efforts, because everything Chris and his wife have tackled has been to a very high standard, and I hope to see them continue with computer-designed, 3D-printed pieces.

Mea culpa!
