When someone says 'mental addiction', what they mean is psychological. All of you here are psychologically addicted to something. Could be anything, orange juice, superhero statues, french fries, Judge Judy, etc. Get it? Probably not.

Reading this thread is so frustrating because everyone who is speaking out against weed, and I mean everyone, is woefully uneducated and at best regurgitating falsehoods that were proven as myth more than a decade ago in some cases. A decade. You just been listening to the american government's lies and it probably doesn't stop there. Where there's smoke there is an idiot. Really, you would all change your tune if you would just study what it is you are pontificating about. What kind of nerd doesn't read?

So when I am reading this thread I'm going "Wow there is nothing you can say to an human who can read but still doesn't know what they are talking about and is ok with it?" Really is that how you want to walk around, not knowing what it is you are talking about?

And to those concerned with what would happen to the country if weed was legalized, there are countries where it is legal and they don't have any of the current trouble the U.S. is having in any one area of concern. That alone should shut your @ss up and cause you to want to find out what you are actually talking about. Run Forrest, Run... to a g0d@mned library for (FB) Odin's sake.

Then again, my predictions for who is intelligent and who is not on this forum is made easily moot by reading this thread because it is made obviously clear, intelligent people talk about actual facts and the rest blow it out their grandma's cellar doors.

And lastly, if you are not smoking/eating weed in the U.S. you are actually a minority. EVERYONE smokes weed. I have had a working relationship with members of the police force in my city and they will tell you the same thing. They would come in depressed and it would be because they had to raid a weed dealer's house and they felt like giant hypocrits for following their job description. So guess what, your fears of a society that is full of mostly high people, on the job, off the job, on the way to the job... is already a reality. How dumb do you think you sound being afraid of a future that is already all around you?

a little harsh but he's right.

I can't believe the level of condescension in your reply. Its matched only by the level of presumption you post with.

My statues don't cause parts of my brain to not develop properly. Nor do they cause lapses of judgment. I know you want to believe you are in the majority. That smoking weed is an accepted social norm, but it would seem your brain is even more impaired than I thought if you believe that.

Oh, so you're telling me that you don't get stoned from smoking a joint? If people didn't get high from it then why would they do it dude.

i get worse off of 2 beers than i do a joint. I'm not saying the joint doesn't work but i function just fine. I know what i'm talking about since i've been smoking for 18 years now....not addicted if i don't have it i'm fine i don't do harder drugs because pot doen't work or any of that crap i've been reading.

Well, I know some people who just got a headache and nothing more.

And some people cant handle 2 beers.

Some people get really hyper when high, and some get really calm, and relaxed. Different people have different reactions.

he's not wrong..... again he was harsh about it but the studies are out there and the numbers are staggering....

How much more educated can you make someone who grew up in it? I seen what it did to my family you didn't. If you don't have problems with it great but my family did. 3 of my 4 siblings have drug problems. They all started with "harmless" weed which progressed to harder drugs. My oldest brother is a "functioning" drugged. My middle brother has NOTHING because of drugs. He's gone through rehabs, attempted suicide, lost jobs and at the height of it was trading his belongings that he worked hard for for drugs. My older sister who is a twin to my other sister has been dead for about 24 years now. She shot herself in the chest when I was 12. Marijuana was the start of it all. Don't lecture on me about how harmless it is, I lived through the pain it has caused.

Shhhhh... people don't like to be told that their vices cause other people (and themselves) pain and have consequences they won't acknowledge. . It makes them feel yucky.

Ahh...see, thats just a tiny percent of people. Not everyone has the same reactions to it. Maybe your family did, but that doesnt mean that the other family is the same as you.

not sure how to expand on it. I smoke, it's my vice i'm not a drinker. I'm not addicted to it though i don't need it every day - i don't have it everyday but i'm not a weekend warrior either, this is part of my life style.

It hasn't made me dumb i function normally but where some people like to have a beer after work to relax, i would rather have a bowl. Everyone i know does it as well....and we all ahve jobs and pay our taxes like everyone else. We're not living in flop houses, or robbing people or any of the insane things i have been reading in this thread.

Told you you wouldn't get it.

People like you make me want to find religion so I would have a god to thank that there is weed to smoke. But thanks to weed and careful study, I don't have a god to thank.

This guy's a great example, all he has to do is look up psychological addiction and he wouldn't have posted what he just did. He is even on a computer at the moment. But a moment is wasted on the happily ignorant. Notice how someone like this attacks the TONE of my post and not it's FACTS? That would require the pesky studying I was mentioning.

:lol As I was saying about the condescension and the presumption.... :lecture

No offense, but it sounds like the people in your family have more than just a drug problem.

And we have another winner.

Weed was PROVEN to not be a gateway drug, guess what, a decade ago.

You do know what proven means, right?

You guys are arguing points that have already been put to bed scientifically.

A decade ago.

That makes you ten years worth of ignorant.

it sounds like "the hard drugs" caused it
