i was in no way endorsing drugs..............i just thought it was a funny quote that could be used in this thread. & if you havent ever heard of bill hicks or his comedy you should check it out. he was very edgy for the time & pushed it to that edge always. very anti consumerism..........he could make you laugh & gasp at the same time. dark humor.............tread lightly. :horror:lol

I got high at a friends and tried to pick up his terrapin and it clawed me with its fin thing. I wouldn't have done that without weed.
I'm not sure if that really adds anything to the conversation but there you go. :dunno

If it would be legalized, I wonder how many places would be open to selling it? The negative stygma might be enough to compel people to shop elsewhere. I can also see some folks being uncomfortable standing in a line with someone about to buy two grams of pot.

Stigma doesn't stop people from buying alcohol in a store.

The stigma isn't the same. It's an improper comparison.

Imagine going to a Wal-mart with your kids and while you're waiting in line to pay for your pepto bismal and monster trucks t-shirt, there's this other guy beside you ordering two grams a hash a porn star experience call girl. Is the world ready for that?

:D

Yeah, but arent there are a lot of folks that prolly get uncomfortable seeing a young person buying tons and tons of alcohol, or a whole basket full of condoms??

I'm thinking the person in line watching that would likely be far more jealous than uncomfortable... lol

You're right. The stigma alcohol carries was born from thousands of drunken driving deaths, thousands more domestic assaults, thousands more child abuse cases, and thousands more lives that were slowly extinguished, one drink at a time.

Clearly we should judge which substances deserve a status of legality by the stigma they carry, seeing as those who employ social stigma in place of a brain have their priorities in perfect order.

You're talking about 95% of the population. Stigma (or perspective) carries most, if not all the weight in this world. Religion, poltics, and legalities are all about stigma (and punishment, if you don't toe the line).

It won't be sold in your regular stores like beer and wine. Most likely it will be sold in the 'collectives' we see now...with each city deciding how many they will allow.

You can only buy booze (not including beer) in state licensed stores here. We have one in town, that's it. I'm sure pot, if it ever comes here, will be sold the same way.
