The biggest problem I see is the fact that his sword blade is way too short. I realize they had to modify it's length since this is a bust, but it ends up looking like he's holding a dagger instead of his sword.

If it is from the Weathertop scene he is holding a dagger.

Profile looks sweet but the pics straight on don't look right to me. Almost superdeformed or something.

I couldn't agree more. I was really looking forward to it, but after seeing the production pictures I was immediately disappointed. They did a MUCH better job with the SSW piece. This one seems to have a very thick neck which is totally out of place on a "ghost", and his chin seems to be bigger than "normal" too.

On the other hand, the price is perfect and I love how they included the arms to the bust as well. Shame about the head, otherwise this would have been a definite buy for me.

aside from his ball sack of a chin I like it. I don't own any of their LS busts, but all the pics of seen i've been impressed with them all so far.

My problem with the sculpt is that since I'm used to seeing my SS/Weta WiKi bust, this face looked... strange, to me.

The only issue I have with the piece is how the body connects to the base. He looks almost like a genie coming out of his bottle, with the torso shrinking so much towards it's attachment to the base.

But I think over-all, it's a nice piece and addition to the line.

What can I say I'm not afraid to say I don't like a SS piece. Especially when it comes out looking like this. LOTR is the license I love the most and this is not something I would even consider buying now.

Oh yeah, I'm guessing ES of 1000, or higher. This line is getting too popular for SS not to take advantage.

Whooaaa.... and some people thought the Balrog looked ugly!!?? This is just wrong on so many counts its not true. If you like it, good luck to you but today I am reeeaaally glad that I don't collect the LSBs. Shame, as the others have been extremely good so far, even if I don't have enough room (or dollars!) to collect them. Still waiting for the next PF and 12".....

I would hope for a smaller ES but at $175 SS could get away with it.

To be fair, there might be something to how the profile pic looks so much better than the other angle.

But as it is now, the front on pic makes it look like they sculpted him in some kind of force perspective style or something.
