No one is never happy if he was thinner people would still complain.
Fake abs . I bet he had Anguirus draw those for him.
Then again, they're probably just chunks of skin armor.

While the May 16th premiere of Godzilla can't come soon enough for us here in the States, Japanese fans have already begun dismissing the new reboot due to the fact that they think the legendary lizard is now too "massive."
According to Time, Japanese fans of the original film series are "annoyed with how fat the monster appears in the American trailer" - claiming online that America had "done a ‘super-size me." Other names reportedly posted were "calorie monster” and “Godzilla Deluxe.” One comment, reported here, claimed “He’s so fat, I laughed.”
Another fan, based on the posters alone, told the AFP “When I finally saw it, I was a bit taken aback. It’s fat from the neck downwards and massive at the bottom.”
Not to futilely fire back here, but the original rubber Godzilla was no Kate Moss. And those thighs? The guy definitely needed to take a few laps around Monster Island.
Plus, the original suit had a person inside it. A person who had to, at times, actually move his neck.
Cap and Spidey are out of the way...I'm ready for the king to take me.
"Calorie Monster", "Godzilla Deluxe"

that's complete BS. talk about hating something for no reason just to hate on it............
those complaints are just ridiculous
I think the Japanese don't want to like it. They don't want an American made Godzilla to be better then theirs.

yeah? sexy and thin as hell right? look at those slim tights, so dreamy.
I hated the iguana head, and creepy human like appendages from the 1998 film.
There's nothing wrong with this Godzilla in terms of its design, but it would have been good if they slimed him down a tad so he doesn't look like an overstuffed teddy bear (lizard?) . On the plus, I love how extremely menacing his face looks this time.
I highly doubt that. We in the west seem to think that they all have a sort of national pride in the monster, which isn't the case at all. That would be like assuming everyone here is a die-hard King Kong fan who would take offense to anyone else's interpretation of it. Like I said, a lot of Japanese aren't into Godzilla (same as how a lot of Americans aren't into it either) regardless of which version.
