I can't believe I'm sitting here 15 minutes away from seeing a new Godzilla movie!!!!!

Personally for me I loved all of the Toho creatures on screen, not just Godzilla

I doubt it, but it seems like the film we are getting isn't exactly the movie that was marketed. The marketing made it seem like godzilla was out to destroy everything and we had no way of stoping him when in retrospec, it's something else that's out there and godzilla stops by to whoop ass. I'm seeing the film on saturday so i'll be able to see for myself if this is the movie I was expecting. It doesn't sound like it's the horror and destruction film we originally thought.

The trailers did have the apocalyptic feel and that Godzilla was the problem.... I wish that was the film we were getting in all honesty. But I am keeping an open mind.

Another somewhat good review that also scares me.... But if Godzilla is in it for 26 min then I am not as worried.

Says "Spoilers!" on the title of this thread but I'm gonna warn anyone who doesn't want to be spoiled anyway to not read further! I had high expectations of this movie being a casual fan of the 98' movie. Saw it earlier today with my girlfriend and we both left the theater fairly disappointed... movie started out great but with the fate of Joe, whom we thought was the main character, it all just went downhill from there. No interesting characters left, not enough Godzilla, too much focus on the other creatures.. dialogue was rather boring, Kickass guy was boring.. all characters were boring except for Joe. I don't even remember the names of the characters. Eh lets see, Godzilla and Joe obviously... Elle? Lela? The kid? Nevermind. As someone else mentioned, Del Toro should've made this movie! Pacific Rim was an awesome monster movie and he would have done Godzilla justice. I still enjoyed this movie because of the visuals and action. But there wasn't much more to it. 6/10.

The only thing I could have asked for was a little more screen time for Godzilla....outside of that it was everything I hoped for. Will definitely be seeing this again (a few times).
