finally got my Legoals yesterday, and it's a good overall figure. The paint is much better than Aragorn... but (maybe I'm too much of a perfectionist, lol) to me it doesnt look like Orlando at all.... but it's still a good figure. In my spare time inbetween other jobs I'll be looking at it to see what I can do (definitly chin and upper lip, possibly cheeks and nose too.....) .... Aragorn demands it now, lol

might have to do something about his clothes too which seem a bit loose. But hey.... this kind of thing is what I enjoy ;)

great figure though, and love the detail on the bow, knives etc

that being said, bro, i cant wait for you to showcase your work here once again...i already repainted mine...need to grab pix of it first tho... and waiting for you to put pics of yours first before i show mine, cos i'd definitely need to use yours for referencing! :lol

well I'm talking about a resculpt, not just a repaint.... so don't try to use it as a reference too much or you may end up doing more work that you wanted :lol

It'll probably still help people just looking to do a repaint though

you're right, anymore referencing i'd haveta buy another figure! i can't sculpt for nuts
well, lookin forward to seein ya pics =)
any tips for photography?as in getting clear shots of the headsculpt and all that?
mine always ends up blur and you can't really see the details :(

Lookin'' good, Karaduin...

I'd pass on the "cloak slit" thing though...it looks just fine the way it is....

Hmm, maybe you're right jedibear. Leggy wouldn't go cutting up his Lorien cloak now would he?! I might have to move the leaf brooch though, wish they could've centered it up, fairly obvious innit?

I'm with jedibear about leaving his cloak intact. While I understand the desire to make a nicer-looking display (which it does), he'd have strapped his quiver on over the cloak, as it appears he did in the movie. As you say, it's quite doubtful he'd have cut holes in his nice new Lórien cloak, anyway!

I don't particularly care for the way the leaf brooch was attached on mine, or the out-of-scale fastener that really makes him look doll-like. I removed them both and I'm now in the process of adding a correctly scaled pin-clasp made of fine wire to the back of the brooch that will secure the cloak realistically and be completely hidden, as it should be. I'm not sure if/when I'll be able to post any photos, but I'll try to do that at some point if anyone is interested in doing the same for their prince of the woodland realm.

BTW, the hilts of his fighting knives came painted silver with my figure! (I'm assuming it's the same on all figures). Anyway, they outta be repainted a very light blond wood color, and the scabbards should be brown leather, (the vine filagree too). The metal trim can be left the same. I checked this out in as many photos as I could find, and I watched Fellowship again very carefully to make sure. The prop replica knives and scabbards made by United Cutlery would serve as an excellent guide for getting the colors and details just right. (I used mine for reference). Hope this is helpful to anyone who's interested!:D

Nice photos of Leggs, btw! :legolas :legolas :legolas

Excellent pix of Leggs! Did you take in the sides of his tunic, by any chance? It looks like a closer fit on your figure. Btw, it probably doesn't matter that much, but shouldn't his belt be tied on the opposite side? I think the way it was originally packaged was the way it was in the movies. I wondered about it too, so I consulted the DVD and my LOTR Fan Club mags to make sure. Anyway, nice photos!

i just stuff cotten and tissue under his clothes thats all..bloom is no that thin in the flicks anyway..

ya i noticed that on the belt..i figured to standardize the looks of the straps on his body since his quiver straps have the 'leafy' sides exposed..:rotfl

The belt can be placed on him properly, mine is on him how it should be as far as the tie and with the leaves showing.

Can you get a picture from behind? I'd like to see how the bow fits on back.
