Ed which parts did you stuff with cotton?

well lets see..the abodomen area was wrapped with tissue all around and taped there..then the upper torso 9just the fron, not the back) was pasted over with some layers of flat pieces of cotton..basically its trial and error thing, bud..after u dressin him up again should be able to see some bulk around the belt area (i know he's lean but hack even elfs gotta have some meat to show for..!!heehee)..if u see any 'holes' or recessed areas in the outer tunic after dressin him up i guess he needs abit more 'fat' at that area..repeat as wanted..haha..hiope i made sense, dude..=p

here's 2 more but u get the idea..=p

Pictures like that really make me wish I had a camera. I love how I've posed my pictures but I never get to show them to anybody. It's hard when you can't share your collection with people you know will appreciate it. So frustrating...........

Anyway your pics are wonderful, keep them coming!

Geezus Christ Ed, you just pose him standing there and it looks better than any pic anyone here has ever taken. Just amazing.

thanks guys, i've seen alot of other better pics....here's a few that got to me..keke...i've still gotta fiddle with it somemore..

the toy itself must be cool..:lol ..and aldeggon, hope u get ur hands on a cam soon..share with us all the cool stuff, man!!:lol

Ed understands the natural body, and how it stands as opposed to a plastic toy. Most people when posing their figures do them in such a way that they still look like toys.

Ed knows about subtle things like how your head would lean if you were turning around, or how your legs would be mid step.... all this is vital in making your figures look more like statues or people, and not 'action figures'

Excellent pics Ed

Hehe, the only thing wrong with this one is that the arrow should be on the other side of the bow. No one in their right mind would want to nock an arrow that way. I know it's nitpicking, but things like this actually get to me.

Just out of curiosity, has anyone repainted Lego's fighting knives & scabbards yet? I haven't been able to find a single scene or reference in any of the films that show they were all silver! Any idea why Sideshow did that? Was it actually intentional, or was it a misunderstanding with the manufacturer in China? I'm sure some of you must also have the UC prop replicas, and know that THEY are most definitely not silver. Anyway, I'm planning to repaint mine to match my replica blades...so I just wondered if anyone else has already done that.

Btw, his Mirkwood quiver had a tube-like fold in the leather harness attached to it so that he could store his bow when it was unstrung. You can see it stored that way in some scenes. Since his bow is molded in the strung position, it's a little difficult to shove the end through the leather "holder" due to the recurved tips, but if one were to fabricate a new, unstrung bow out of wood or plastic, then he could be posed with the bow slung behind him, as in the movies. Just a thought! :D

Indeed. Some American "Indians" hunted with their bows in this vertical position, but I don't recall seeing 'The Elf' do it that way...

HA,

I checked out your blog site the other day...great job on Aragorn, btw! Did you do something to his duster? It looked more worn and natural in the "after" photo. Looking forward to seeing Legolas when you're done with him. Do you plan on repainting his knives and scabbards? I don't think they're supposed to be silver, unless I'm very much mistaken! :D

I really need to add some text to that blog, I just upped the photos in a hurry though to get it up.

Yeah... i did a LOT to the leather coat thingy. The whole outfit really..... I went at it with sandpaper, craft knives, screwdrivers, to make it look less new (all in a very controlled way.. obviously. Working from reference photos) I then painted a wash of mud coloured paint over it... to make ti even less shiny than the sandpaper had done..... and then built up various different colours of mud splashes at the bottom....... some other stuff too but I cant remember now, lol

coloured and stitched the inside part of the clothes too. lots and lots of work... but I'm SO pleased with the result!

And can't wait to do see Leggy finished now. As for the knives, if they need painting... then I'll paint them :)
