Amazing job, Darren. The fix to the chin alone is fantastic, let alone the other tweaks.

Wish I could see one of Hunky's resculpts posed by edwint and photoshopped by MaulFan. THAT would be an amazing photo!
hunky_artist said:well the Legolas sculpt is officially finished, whether it's better or not is another matter, lol.
It's being molded as we speak (takes 48 hours for a 2 part mold... bah, I wanna paint this thing now), then the first cast is being painted for myself (and to see if it looks any good! lol
hunky_artist said:As for Boromir, I'll be resculpting his cheeks slightly, possibly his beard, but mainly the change I'll be making is where his hair touched his forehead. At the moment it kinda looks like he's wearing a hat, but you should be able to see where the hair touched the scalp at the centre part. So I'll be cutting away part of the rubber hair sculpt in the centre and resculpting it.
Just for me this one though, as this is the soft rubber/plastic hairpiece I'll be resculpting and not the head cast. With Legolas I've managed to remove the hair and just work on the head, with Boromir I'll be working on the hair itself, making it impossible to offer as a resculpted piece.
If it works well enough of course... (and doesnt take me too long) I may take on commissions lol
I'd love to see some pictures of your Boromir. Can you post some? I'm curious to see how your hair treatment looks.Entropy Chicken said:I had the same issue with Boromir and got really good results heating the hair piece with a heat gun, bending it closer to his forehead and ears then dunking it in cold water to get it to set in the new position. Presto! no gap at the scalp. Just a thought you might try before whipping out the knife.
You might also consider making a mold/cast of the head sans hairpiece and offering that depending on demand for a re-sculpted Boromir which there may not be as he came out very well IMO.
