I actually kind of hope that we get to see Aragorn in hand before too many Pre-orders. I want to see the maquette displayed with my Premium Format figures and see how I like them together before I order too many more!

Especially with the new NRD policy.

The NRD policy is exactly my concern. For a known quantity, like the Premium Format figures, I won't mind, but I haven't seen any of these in hand yet.

Pictures only say so much, and I would love to see one of these in person before I decide if I am going to pursue more characters in the line. I may be in just for the Fellowship, if this is the only way to get the complete nine-member fellowship, but I still hope we'll see all nine in the Premium Format range.

I understand everyone's concerns about in-hand quality, especially since the line is a brand new one, but also because of the NRD. However the NRD has not applied to either of the previous orders in the maquette line and I don't think it will apply to future ones either, but that may be wishful thinking. If the statues look 3/4 as good as the prototypes shown at SDCC (which I only saw on this forum, and not in person) then I think I will be very happy with the new line. I better be, because it is the only line I am currently collecting from SS.

Oh, and barring a huge misstep by SS, I want the entire line of maquettes.

SS, surprise me, and bring on Legolas today! :D

I know, I know... :D

Can't seem to get out from in front of the computer, waiting on the newsletter, but really getting nothing done.

I know the NRD doesn't have an effect on Aragorn and Gandalf, but we could conceivably order two or three more of these items before Aragorn ships. The NRD might be placed on items like these (I would be surprised if it isn't) and if I find that the look of the new maquettes don't suit my collecting once I have one in hand, I may just stick with my Premium Format figures. If I can avoid the 25$ fee, I would like that. I would even like to avoid giving Sideshow a false sense of support for a line with a "placeholder" pre-order.

Given my love for the SSW line that I had to sell off when I was trying to buy a house, I can imagine that I will really like to collect this line though!

I'd be surprised if Lego wasn't announced during the Spook.... we normally get a couple of announcements right? Especially after SDCC when they said Lego would be put up for order soon after the Con. Plus the Strider and Gandalf exclusives sold out. Seemed they had a few lined up already - Lego, Gimli, Boromir, Arwen....

I hope we get more than just the pre-order though. It would be cool to get another sneak preview with our pre-order of Legolas, similar to the way a Gandalf shot was hidden in the background of one of the Aragorn product pictures. It's about time for some Q&A answers too!

I could see them tossing up Legolas during spook with Gimli hidden in the background or even in the pic out in the open.

really starting to believe this line is going the way of the dios....

:monkey4

So, in case anyone missed it, the news from Spooktacular is that the new maquette line will be somewhat merging with the diorama line. Not sure how I feel about that, but anyway...

Maybe we will see a preview of the Legolas maquette in today's newsletter. But probably not, since we just had the Gollum premium format last week.

Ever the optimist! I am hoping we see news on Legolas soon too, as an official announcement is woefully overdue.

Who knows, we might see him today, as we saw Gandalf the Grey maquette and the Morgul Lord pre-order pretty close to each other. The next LOTR maquette was supposed to debut shortly after SDCC but maybe they meant SDCC 2011:impatient:

I don't know if it will be a total merger type thing. More I think pieces with a bit more of an environment with them. Like Gimli was shown.

That I'm cool with, of course, as long as they stay the course with the representation of each character. And I also don't mind multiple hobbits included on one statue.
