Single character statues for the human sized characters would be best!! I would totally be okay with more than one hobbit to a base though for this line (and the PF line) to ensure that they all get made!!

Yeah, putting a couple of hobbits together would be cool. You could do that twice with getting them all in this line.

As long as the scale stays 1/6 so I can interchange them with my Weta statue's I may be interested. :wave

Four month's to the day since our last LOTR maquette pre-order. If Sideshow's objective was to suck the life and momentum out of this "expansive" new line from one of their "most cherished" licences.....I think they've succeeded. Nice going SS! :clap

Here I am again, with maybe a few of you, waiting on the newsletter for any mention of the previously promised Legolas. I'm left wondering what is taking so long, when SS seemed so confident that the line would be expansive (as mentioned above by woodsy) and that we would see quick releases. Although when I really think about it, all I'm really able to do is four (maybe five) per year anyway, so if Legolas shows up within the next month for preorder then they remain on track. I'm really hoping that Aragorn ships very early in the first quarter so we can finally have our hands on the first in the new line.

Waiting... :ohbfrank:

Waiting with you Fury...I look to the newsletter for the new Lord of the Rings announcements (okay, maybe the Venture Brothers stuff too) and I usually am glad that I am not pre-ordering anything, but it has been ages since we've seen any news on this maquette line!!

No Leggy...but new pics of the Morgul Lord...but still not as good as the Morgul Lord could have been.

Maybe they meant SDCC 2011 when they said that the next maquette would be previewing after shortly after Comic Con...:dunno

Nah, Legolas wouldn't fit the theme of Black and White Friday...most likely Hawkeye, as many on the Marvel section have guessed.

There's no way Legolas is in that silhouette.

Q.With two LOTR maquette home runs already in the works, should we expect to hear an announcement for #3 soon?

A.Indeed, #3 is coming shortly after Comic-Con. And he’s DREAMY"

SS's definition of "shortly" doesn't seem to match up with that of collectors....or any dictionary ever written for that matter. :rolleyes2

I could actually see Leggy in the silhouette, but it looks like he is holding his daggers. The pose is turned to face more forward than that of the design sketch, so you can see a little bit of dagger at the leftmost side...the bow is 100% hawkeye though. Given that neither of these character really fall into the "black and white" color scheme theme, perhaps Sideshow has jettisoned the idea that the only things to see release on Black and White Friday are Imperial Storm Troopers.

I do wish that they released product more throughout the year and less tied to tentpole events for them. I'd like to see a random Thursday newsletter that actually had news in it, like production peeks, Q&A answers, etc... The recent newsletters feel more like begging people to order product that has already been released instead of news. Just my $0.02
