I thought you looked different in the other thread.

Good job on the wait loss. I dropped a whole bunch of wait years ago and I love it. Nice to see actual detail in your own body. :rock

Looking good there Les! :D Keep it up! I plan on getting started eating more healthy and walking myself. I could stand to lose about 30 pounds myself.

Les man your looking great. Keep up the good work. If you don't mind me asking what are you doing to get it off. I've been over weight my whole life and have tried everything. I really love seeing people have succes.

You looks good man, I also need to lose some kg. A good walks every day along the river do the work :D

Good before and after shoots!

Always good to look back at photos of yourself to see how you've changed. Some times it's hard to tell if it's been a slow change over the year(s).

I was looking back at some photos of myself from 5 years ago... I now look old, haggered, less hair, stressed, ill, etc... so, sometimes it's not a good idea to look back at photos! :lol

What have I done so far?
I eat better and walk every day.
And when I say walk, I mean WALK! LOL! I do a route that has hills, I live in the hilliest part of my town, so that helps. And I start out at a brisk pace, stretch first, and go. I go about two miles maybe, but it's not the distance, but again, those hills and I can add laps around a nice park that is about halfway in the route. It has a chinup bar also, but I can't do many of those yet! LOL! When I am about to the finish line, I really walk fast, not run, but walk really hard and fast. Then, for the last 100 yards or so, just walk slow and easy, then rest in a lawn chair out in my side yard.
That is the best part. The breathing after the walk, and the relaxation. I think it's all this that's making my paintwork go faster and better too. I finally have a "place" I can "go" that is relaxing, and helps me think and focus, that is outside, and away from the work.

Plus, I eat a lot of raw carrots now. Nothing like my carrots and veggie dip! I eat NO added sugar, no white refined flour, NO fried anything, No cheeses, if it walks on four legs, I only eat meat from it once a week, eat Turkey or Chicken, or FISH! Take fish oil twice a day, (plus I am on a statin drug for cholesterol which was HIGH when I went to the doc last) and when needed, anxiety medication (I will NEVER put down the needing meds help avenue again! As in, I am too proud/don't need/am too tough for/whatever!), as I am still not completely emotionally over the last two years (more Ma and all that, than just work, but the getting behind didn't help!) so all that helps me focus, think, and get my act in gear.

If it weren't for all of it combined, and my newfound commitment to sticking to it, work and weight, which is due to almost having died this last Christmas eve, (Near Death experiences REALLY DO motivate one!), then I don't know. I was on a fast track out of here! What a mess that would have been! LOL!

But I am getting it all back on track, and it's all that walking and eating better done together, and seeing some better paint work coming out of me that I like again too...it all adds up.

Not sure what to tell anyone here, other than what I've already said, be careful what you eat, and WALK! I don't run, just walk. Get out! MOVE! Staying inside WILL KILL YOU! I know. I almost died from it!

Hope that helps someone out there. Best of luck! And don't be afraid or procrastinate anymore, just do it! :rock

More good stuff coming! :rock

HUGELY motivational post Les...Even to those who generally live a fairly healthy lifestyle, some sage advice to just get out there and get moving. It really does do a lot to help with maintaining sanity and relaxation.

I live right near the biggest park in my city and there's lots of AWESOME trails for running, walking, whatever. When the weather's good, I just fire up the iPod, get out there and get rockin'! :rock

Keep it up bro...and keep with the carrots...Not just for a healthy snack, but to keep those peepers sharp for all those super-detailed paint-ups too! :D

Thanks Indiana Fett. Hope someone can use that info for something if they are trying to start a weight loss thing on their own. It's hard to do. I know.

Anyway, VERY quickly here...
Had more than a few requests to see the pics I had done of my figures for the presentation, namely the ongoing Jack Sparrow (very close to being finished on him, but he's still in progress, as I am not sure about the face yet, and some small details. He is a COTBP version but with liberties with an extra belt and rings, etc. Formula posted with pic), and some of the other paints I had photographed to show the art guild group. The figures are all pretty old now, but for the unfinished ones.

So, here are a few select shots from that shoot. All these photos taken by my local friend Dana Oliver.

Recipe: Sideshow female buck body
Hot Toys ES head and hair
Custom made felt hat (had on hand)
Zizzle Jack shirt, resized and shaped and tapered
Zizzle Jack vest, repainted, and taken in.
Zizzle Jack pants, dirtied and darkened
Custom made boots
Zizzle Jack pistol.
Baldric, custom made from Zizzle Jack one, with buckle made from brass wire
Sword and scabbard, I think it was a Dragon French sword, that I repainted to look very aged and weathered.

And just some paints shown at the presentation:

Before and after SS Gandalf

Repainted Kaiyodo C-3PO (back when EpII came out)

and a shot of my old Nicholson Joker Custom from ages back, reshot again and with Cocoboloboy's hat on him!
les133a.jpg

And the repainted HT Two-Face head on my custom figure. I did the suitwork detailing also. he may get more detailing later...

And my own Custom Keaton Batman from WAY, WAY back, but with the head mods I have done since the online shots....with newer wider head and more defined cowl sculpt. The wrinkling in his neck is due to how I made the head originally, with a somewhat posable neck. LOTS of work, for something that barely functions. But still, it make him unique I guess.
