Yeah, that was everyone's typical response to anyone who posted "Mad Max: Fury Road will make it to the Oscars" when it premiered in May. Then in January as the Nominees were announced, all those people had to eat crow.

I wasn't one of those people. I knew Mad Max would be a visual feast before it came out.

We'll see with Logan.

Premiering it at Berlin is confirmation that FOX is pushing it in that direction. The only bad thing is much like Fury Road we have to wait almost a year to see if it'll break the CBM ceiling and land Nominations for Picture, Actor (the most plausible one), Director, Cinematography and Screenplay.

A Best Picture Nomination would definitively change the way people view CBMs once more - given that [the Oscar-snubbed] TDK premiered a full decade before Logan will.

An event like that ensures movies like Affleck's proposed The Batman get treated intelligently rather than be forced to go the Feige route for the sake of BO returns.

Totally random question guys (because the whole time line 'debate' got me thinking about him), does anyone know what happened to Uncanny (aka Nova)?

I haven't seen him around in ages. He was always chatting in up in here with us all. I looked at his profile and he hasn't logged in, in almost a year.

I believe he had some health concerns (someone correct me if I'm wrong.)

It only says how bad the "Oscars" are. They can't stay relevant.

I was wondering myself, hope he/she is doing well.

I always wonder when I die will I be missed here lol

But gets points for driving a monster truck over a woman pregnant with his child.

I knew it knew it knew it someone was going to bring that up.

I thougt about that lol.

I was going to give him villain points for that but he didn't do it on purpose, it was by accident.

Did LOTR really sweep the oscars!

The only time I ever watched that horrible meaningless show. :lol

He changed his username to something

It's sad to say, but it'll happen to all us. I honestly was wondering that about Uncanny because I thought he mentioned that he had a medical condition - cystic fibrosis, I believe. Many don't live long with that. I hope he's well and wish him the best. Hopefully, he's just taking time away.

He changed his username to something

Did he change his account then? Because his 'Uncanny' account hasn't been active in a long time.

No one cared who Chap was until he put on the mas....Hulk.

That's not inaccurate :lol

Still visually memorable and >>>>>>>> 90% of MCU villains

Ok visually yes he looked and sounded awesome and yes better than most MCU villains.

But I couldn't believe my eyes when they had him sitting on a hill doing nothing but being a sadffleck, had Max and Furiosa not done their u-turn I think Immortan Joe and his dumb son would still be sitting on that hill doing nothing. :lol

Now that I think about it Immortan Joe and his son were just like Sheriff Buford T Justice and his son from Smokey and the Bandit.

Look daddy here they come.

Watching the Manchester United v Liverpool match and the advertising board around the pitch had a promo for Logan on it. Couldn't make out a release date though.

3rd of March worldwide dude. I just got back from La La Land and they had the teaser poster as a huge standee in the lobby. It was pretty cool since this time last year they had the fireplace pose Deadpool as a standee too. I remember thinking it'll do ok. How little we knew back then.

Trailer looks okay but this certainly doesn't look Oscar worthy. Looks like a cool little action flick at best.

****. Between this and the PR trailer, I'm getting overloaded.

This trailer looked good. So glad we're getting X-23. This will be an opening night-er for me.

It's giving me the 'this is it' vibe and I like it.

I thought the trailer was solid but the action still looks subpar, and the movie looks a bit too clean which kinda takes away from the overall gritty tone.

I just hope we get a Wolverine berserker scene, that's as well directed as the X2 mansion scene. I don't want to just see Hugh Jackman running and killing guys, I wanna see spit flying out his mouth, screaming and yelling while he's slicing these guys up, and it'd be pretty cool if he even had a little John Mcclane in him and curse some of the guys out while doing it.
