Just get the guy from Banshee in. He's basically been doing it for 4 years (sans claws).

To recast him you essentially have to reboot the franchise which FOX won't do for another ten years. Cable will basically be filling the Wolverine void in X-FORCE (2019) & in its subsequent sequels.

We have:

February 8, 2017 - Legion (FX Series)
March 3, 2017 - Logan
December 2017 - X-Factor Investigations (FOX series)
March 2, 2018 - Deadpool 2/Wolverine and Deadpool Team Up Film
June 29, 2018 - New Mutants
November 2, 2018 - Gambit
February 14, 2019 - X-Force
Summer 2019 - Untitled 90s X-Men Team Film
March 2020 - Deadpool 3
Summer 2020 - Untitled 2000s X-Men Team Film

Plus adaptations of Starjammers, Alpha Flight & Excalibur.

We won't see another Wolverine for a long time.

I don't see why you have to reboot the entire franchise just to recast Wolverine.

Especially a franchise with horrible continuity like FoX-Men.

I see Logan as this small "character driven" movie as Fox's reaction to losing money somewhere.

Not on Deadpool, that made money.

Did they lose money with Wolverine/XMA?

We lost a ton of money, lets tell the fans we're giving them a small and personal "character driven" movie where all the superheroes that require expensive cgi are all dead. :lol

Could be like Thor, who needs Hulk and Strange to make his movie interesting.
