Re: WOLVERINE (March 3rd 2017)

Well. . .apologies for inadvertently steering this thread into another Chris Nolan debate. :lol Surely, no series of films has been more discussed and debated on the forum than those. I still love the first two very much, but like the vast majority of films out there, they can be dissected and critiqued pretty intensely if you really want to spend the energy. Chinatown and Godfather they ain't. But they still are the Chinatown/Godfather/Citizen Kane of comic book movies. TDKR is Godfather 3, or The Two Jakes.

Re: WOLVERINE (March 3rd 2017)

And won zero! :lol Though folks knew it long before that, that may have been the moment the Academy lost any semblance of critical authority. Like when Steely Dan's first album in 20 years automatically wins the Grammy, just because it's Steely Dan.

Re: WOLVERINE (March 3rd 2017)

Everything you're saying makes perfect sense, You're arguing with people that didn't even think TDK was a good movie :lol

I was going to keep the argument going but then I read posters citing Marvel's Cap trilogy as superior to Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy.

And I have zero enthusiasm after that.

As soon as Steve comes out a big dude from the transformation chamber, Cap: TFA turned into bland, mediocre crap. The whole movie just goes to hell.

Winter Soldier was fantastic.

Civil War was a slap in the face to everyone who expects more than generic popcorn from these types of films. Incredibly disappointing, specially as a sequel to TWS and to add insult to injury - criminally overrated. The movie is exactly why my interest in the MCU is at an all-time low. Feige just won't take chances with those films anymore.

Well, at least there's this, which shows how not all the masses drank the safe Civil Skirmish koolaid.

You better believe CW is overrated but like AoU reality will sink in within a year ....the Russos were morphed into ordinary stuff after WS....found it incredulous at times these were the same guys who made WS

Re: WOLVERINE (March 3rd 2017)

TWS is so overrated, just like Batman Begins. Nothing but big explosions and typical blockbuster stuff.:sleep It had good action and a not so mysterious villain. CW>>>TWS. :bunnydanc

Re: WOLVERINE (March 3rd 2017)

Personally speaking, I was severely dissapointed when a plot point from Cap's own book, that mostly had to do with the Winter Soldier arc, didn't find itself in the Civil War movie. Much dissapointed. Many problem. Such let down. 5/10 at BEST.

Khev and I are at the bar ordering an MCU kool aid margarita right now.

Grab one for me as well. All this Marvel™ whorring has really brought me down...

Do you expect your criticisms to be taken seriously when you post memes that feature the word "REALITY" on top of images that weren't actually from the movie?

Good thing he decided not to finish that "argument" in which he was arguing against the movie's script. :lol
