"wolverine" and "art house" ? :lol

Naturally. For instance, here's Gavin Hood on the cult classic and critical darling Wolverine: Origins -

...we were able to explore a particular character in greater depth, because we were going to spend more time with him than we'd ever spent before... any film that has any soul, has a clear sense of theme, so I always felt that we had to deliver...some sort of thematic idea that was refreshing and new...

Sounds great! :lol

Everyone thought The Dark Knight was just going to be another CBM.

Eight Oscar Nominations and two Oscar wins later...

A CBM can go the distance and transcend. It all begins with a supportive studio and a strong auteur at the helm.

Old news. From the Tom Rothman, CEO of FOX days where every CBM had to be PG and family friendly.

Pointless to bring up.

I'll give it to Snik he's always got a decent rebuttal

But seriously like Clown already said who the heck wants a B&W bloody R move.

You either want the B&W aesthetics or the blood, you can't have both.

SNIKT if you toned down the contemptuous rhetoric I think you'd find that many people would find your enthusiasm infectious instead of eye rolling. I respect your discriminating taste in film and even agree with some of your wishes but the way you present them is often just so abrasive and off putting.

Your preferences are no more enlightened or valid than anyone else's and a little respect can go a long way. And I'm just speaking as someone who's loved all types of films a little longer than you, not as a "mod."

I respect everyone's opinions on here. Its a good crowd.

Its crazy how things have changed in the film world. In '08, the first trailer for X-Men: Origins premiered at midnight with The Day The Earth Stood Still. Then three days later online.

Now we get everything straight to the web.

While its more convenient, I miss the incentive to go see movies for trailer premieres.

It does kind of diminish the impact and excitement generated from seeing the Trailer first on the big screen.

But then, at least I dont have to spend $12 to (maybe) see it.

I went to see I Am Legend just to watch the first TDK trailer. It was worth it.

The best example of that for me was paying to see The Grudge 2 - which I had zero interest in, just to see the second Ghost Rider trailer.

I don't know what to think of this movie or Wolverine anymore.

This jumping around of timelines just makes me not care anymore.

How is this movie connected to DOFP/Apoc again?

Can we just give him over to Marvel like Spiderman.

Oh, trailer was boring.

I'm finally convinced that he's too tall for Wolverine.

Give it to bulky short Mel, he's a crazy muther****er.
