Thats been confirmed? I heard that was only a rumor. If this takes place a year after DOFP that'll be ridiculous :lol

from cinemablend

Fans will remember that the Days of Future Past epilogue saw Logan awakening in a new future where the Xavier School for Gifted Youngsters was thriving, Jean (and Scott) was still alive, and everything looked like it would turn out alright in the end for our Merry Mutants. Logan takes place at least a couple decades after that, and it looks like the cards are once again stacked against mutantkind. The X-Men have been disbanded for years, with mutants now finding themselves on the wrong side of evolution. Logan seems to be the last survivor, a soldier without a war. All in all, it's a bummer.

2024, a year after the end of the newly created future when Logan wakes up at the end of DOFP (2023).

Yes, Logan was born in 1832 and he's 192 in 2024 Logan (film). The last scene of The Wolverine (film) takes place in 2015 and DOFP 8 years later in 2023.

2024 is part of the official synopsis, but it was 2023 at the end of DOFP when they created a new future where everyone is alive.

People can say it takes place a few decades later, but the official synopsis so far says 2024. :dunno

Bryan Singer does not care about continuity. If you look at Superman Returns as a sequel to Superman 2, which is what he intended, Superman is a rapist from Lois Lane's perspective.

He admitted later that he decided to "just ignore" the amnesia kiss but stick with everything else.

But he got that in-ground pool, so....

You sure do hate Singer, he has pretty much nothing to do with this movie and you're still blaming the man :lol

The date '2023' is actually a misconception. The future scenes of DOFP take place in 2016. When Wolverine wakes up in the repaired future there's a digital calendar next to his bed and the date is 2016.

Yea, I don't think anything is official yet. Going by Mangold's comments this should be taking place a good amount of time after the DOFP ending. If this is a year after that then that'll be ridiculous.

If the 2024 rumor is accurate it would be taking place eight years after DOFP.

He's directly responsible for the X-Men film continuity, which is a topic if you're paying attention.

The continuity is only an issue to people who want to make it an issue.

The concept of two timelines is pretty simple. Not once am I confused when watching one of these films about when or where it fits.

Sure, but doesn't have anything to do with the continuity issues of this film. The year, Charles' hair, X-Men dead again, thats what we're talking about here. So far only Charles' hair is a problem since the year isn't confirmed :lol

I'm starting to think you went to one of them pool parties in the 90s :lol

I don't remember the clock showing the year, just the time. Why does Wolverine still have the 2023 grey hair if changing the future made him younger?

MCU Cap would absolutely wreck Jackman's Wolverine. It wouldn't even be a contest :lol

Jackman takes nothing but beatings in his own films :lol

Of course it's related to this film's continuity. That's how a film series works. :dunno

Actually a family member was molested by a pedophile, which is why I may overindulge in the references. And I still bring it up less often than your "I just don't understand how anyone likes these MCU movies..." schtick.

But how can you blame him for any continuity issues in this movie? Shouldn't Mangold take the blame here?

I don't blame Shane Black for Whedon bringing Iron Man into the Avengers after he clearly retired at the end of Iron Man 3.

Whatever happened to innocent until proven guilty? :lol
