I don't watch X-Men movies (last one I saw was X2 on tv) but I keep seeing people say this is as good as The Dark Knight? Sparked enough of my curiosity to warrant a watch. I'll see it once its out on digital.

Going tomorrow.... it's been hard to avoid spoilers, so I'm out of this thread 'till then. I've heard just enough to get me excited....

Terrance Stamp should be #1 just for his performance and delivery of this line!!

The only shame is we never got to see him in his brown costume in those years.
But wouldnt it have looked cheesy on screen? That's what I always thought of whenever someone mentioned what you just mentioned.

Maybe but only with the helmet /cowl. They could've paid homage without it.
Idk maybe. They had the colors of his other costume in the future suit Wolvie wore in DOFP.

The movie was fantastic. Packed theater at 10:30pm last night too.

I think it was the best comic book film since TDK. It really makes all the MCU and DC films look like they are Disney Original movies from the Disney Channel.

Great acting, great story, great action, etc. I was super impressed by X-23 too. I didn't think I was going to like her and was hoping that when they introduced her she would be a young adult. The kid was great.

I'm looking forward to any other R rated Fox Comic book movies... I know we have Deadpool 2. Hopefully X-Force will be R too once they get around to it.

Should I see this or Kong?

:D

If you liked No Country for Old Men or Hell or High Water (neo-westerns), you'll love this movie.

Its also a major critique of the current CBM genre and it does so via the western (another genre that died due to fatigue from poorly made back-to-back features).

Go see both, Kong is my next movie next week So far the buzz is fantastic.

Interesting you mention the whole kid thing, it does feel like the movies for DC and MCU are cartoons in comparison to this

Am the only one who kind of
wants to see Laura and her friends get their own X-Men movies? Death by pine needles was one of the most badass things I'd ever seen, and they were all just cool little people. I'd kind of want to see them get their own pissed off, R-rated, deadly version of the X-Men going where we could get more **** like that.

7 out of 10. Great acting, well done fight coreography. Violence got tedious, but that's the videogame generation. Story has some plot holes and weak points. Go in with tempered expectations and it's an enjoyable movie. Disney still Let this happen. They own Marvel and the character. For my money I am still more entertained by Guardians or Ant Man. I understand the appeal for some, but why did it have to take 10 movies to get something people were excited about? Age of Apocalypse was in my opionion one of the worst comic movies ever made. Of course this is going to look good following that.

I was so pleased with the ambiguities this movie was comfortable dropping that I would hate to see any specific followup. I do agree though with your opinion of that element. :rock
