hey guys, i was just thinkin of my own theories and thought i would share
What are the possibilities that the island is atlantis? sorry if this has been brought up i dont want to read through all of the posts,
and who has played prince of persia 2 warrior within?
what if its an island of time type deal, and the smoke monster is like the dahaka or the guardian of time? possibly?
or atlantis is an island of time and the reason no one has fould it is because it keeps moving through time
and the others and these misterious characters are like atlantians? or something along those lines?

That's a pretty good idea. Seems like it could fit into the story if done properly. The only question would be "What happened to all the ancient ruins?"

As for the ending, this is a snippet from a EW interview that pertains to the end...

EW said:
Did Desmond's failure to press the button REALLY cause the plane to crash — or is there more to this story?
LINDELOF: In terms of the pragmatic reality, Oceanic 815 never would have crashed had Desmond pushed the button. But is there a larger, more faith-based, spiritualized reason that these people happened to be on that plane when he failed to press the button? If Desmond hadn't run into Jack at that stadium, would he have made the same choices that he made in his life? They all impact each other's lives. The fact that that guy is on that plane up there, and Desmond brings that plane down, it speaks to an interrelatedness among characters, why these people, why do they all connect. No amount of mythological answers will ever speak to this. That's the one thing that when the show ends, you won't have a causal explanation for why did all these people interconnect. Why some, why not others? The answer is just that they just do. The show is a massive Rube Goldberg device, in which all the components of the machinery are humans.

Yeah! You tell 'em Lonnie! Remember when we always knew what was on and when, on 7 channels? I could tell time by watching my shows!

Yeah, and Saturdays were special because that was the day that cartoons aired! Kids today have cartoons 24/7 on multiple channels... just not as special anymore!

And imo the cartoons suck these days. And it irritates me that all those cartoons but no classics like Bugs Bunny. Loony Tunes still cracks me up.

Wascally wabbits getting us off topic...
