I think it's Widmore or Desmond (or both).

We want to see them one more time, but the off-island story is done at this point. Outside of the flashes, the only way to reconnect with those two characters would be to have them show up on the island on our way to the climax. I just don't see them adding a non-island non-flash storyline into the mix with just a few weeks left to go.

sounds good to me. I agree Des, Ellie and Widdy need to be brought back into the story. Seems like a good way to do it. Would they really intro yet another new character this late in the game?

And how will this mystery person(s) come to the island? They've done the ship, plane, helicopter and hot air balloon. what's left? sea turtles? :lol

Desmond and Whitmore BOTH need to be and WILL be back in the show. NO... QUESTION.

BUT, the other major character that really NEEDS to be addressed is Walt.

The name assosicated with number 108 was "Wallace". As we have no character with either a first, last or nick name corresponding with "Wallace", and as it is FAR too late in the game to introduce us to yet another new character, you have to assume that "Wallace" is the "Kevin Johson" of season six (though played MUCH better!).

And I firmly believe that Desmond, Whitmore or Walt will end up being "Wallace". Desmond makes the most sense, but I would love to learn that Whitmore was actually working with Jacob the whole time, which would either shed a very different light on who we percieve Jacob or Whitmore to be. But also, It could be Walt. I've had this crazy theory that Walt is Abadon (sp?). Probably way off base, but there is SOMETHING about that scene between him and Locke following physical therapy and what Abadon says that always made me think he was an older version of Walt. But then, he was shot (or what he?? dun, Dun, DUUUUN!... no, he was). My money is on Desmond.

Unless you know some spoilers I see no reason to bring back Desmond or Penny. There story was closed out good enough for me.

Now Whitmore should come back to finish off his character...because if he doesn't come back he was COMPLETELY useless to this show.

As far as I can remember, didn't every one of the tail section survivors (who were prominently featured in the show) die?

I would take Mr. Echo over Jack any day.
