Who's in the casket?

Ben? Sawyer? Michael?

Is Jack's father still alive?

Exactly....I was wondering who had died as well. I don't think it's Michael due to how Jack acted when he read it. NO ONE else came so it was someone that NO ONE liked. Sawyer may be a logical choice there, but I can see Hurley showing up to even Sawyers wake.

I'm stoked with how this is going, but if in the final episode, Kevin Tighe gets into a red truck and tells Randolph Mantooth about this weird dream he had last night.....

I figure its got to be Ben or Locke.

Wow... It's episodes like this that keep me hooked and make up for the episodes filled with fillers. I can't wait to see where things go next season!

I'm not so sure it was Sawyer, I kinda got the feeling that Kate may be with him since she said, "He'll be wondering where I am."

Something just occured to me as I was brushing my teeth...Jack said, "Bring my father down here and if he is any drunker than I am then you can fire me."

Yea, my friend and I were talking about that a little while ago. But, we figure Jack was drunker then a skunk.

But, it wouldn't suprise me if he was still alive.

It looked like the funeral parlor was in a black neighborhood. So if it's Michael, where's Walt and vise-versa? Maybe Rose but she's likable and the parlor was empty.

Notice how Penny had a direct line to the Looking Glass station. I also think Walt's cameo was filmed way in advance and paid well to keep his mouth shut.

I think it was Ben in the casket. He also had nobody left, so that would explain no one coming except for Jack. Jack realized that even though Ben put them through hell, he was right all along. Also, the casket wasn't that big and Ben is a smaller guy.

Also, the big "twist" of the flash forward instead of the usual flashback seemed pretty obvious right away to me. Jack was never in that bad of self destructive behavior before they arrived on the island so he apparently had been through something very traumatic and had that massive beard goin' on.

Still was a very entertaining season finale. It will be interesting to see how the next season will play out. I think it will still be taking place directly after the events of this season and not be in flashbacks to the island. There are too many questions to answer to do flashbacks.

I don't think it was "truly" Walt. I think it was Jacob. I thought I heard the same old "whispers" we used to hear....and then Walt appeared.

I think Jacob appeared as Walt, to motivate Locke to climb out of there and told what to do.

They kind of gave it away at the beginning of the show that Walt would be in it, as they showed him under the guest appearance by: (whatever his name is again)

What about Charlie?! Couldn't he have closed the door from the other side? Why close it on himself? Why? WHY?! :monkey2

And let's hear it for Hugo! How many times was the word "hero" used in this episode? Was that a little dig at another certain popular show?

I think it was Ben in the casket, but it could be years before we find out.

And I guess we'll see Jack's father again.

Walt looked a lot older than when he left so it would have had to been filmed pretty recently. Also, I think it was just the island (Jacob?) manifesting an image of Walt to get Locke up and moving.

Now that was a finale!

I must say I did not see that twist coming. I really wonder how the show is going to work now. Are we going to get flash forwards? Are we going to be back in civilization with island flashbacks? I hope they are at least able to tell us how the structure of the show is going to be at SDCC.

New questions:

-are the flash forwards real, or island mind stuff?
-if real, why want to go back?
-if real, is Jack's dad stil alive?
-if real, who died?
-if real, did Kate end up with Sawyer?
-if real, did some (like Locke) stay on the island?
-why did the smoke monster/Walt get John up?
-was Ben telling the truth about 'bad resuers?'
-why can't Mikhael die? Or why doesn't he die?
-can Penny find the island now too?
-can the show still be called 'LOST?'

Amazing finale!

I'm so glad I was able to avoid all the spoilers out there. I would've been so pissed if I had read that plot summary before I saw it. They surprised me with everything. Jin, Bernard, Sayid getting shot, would Ben die, Mr. Friendly & Sawyer, Hurley in the van, would the dharma peeps would show, Walt, the flashback. Even the Charlie thing which they already predicted unfolded in a surprising way.

So they are going to monkey with the flashback staple which is great. Now it's all about how do they prevent getting rescued. We'll get the Castaway stuff of coming home and not fitting in, how the people have changed, prolly for the worse, by leaving the island. Can they top suicidal beared Jack?

I bet we come back to that sat. phone scene again at some point and Locke actually shoots Jack this time preventing all the bad things that result. I can't believe he just walked away! How does rescue figure into Jack's dad now being alive? Did events in the past change somehow? Is the 'him' Kate mentioned Sawyer or too obvious? Ben being in the coffin would be cool, but would he ever let anyone take him off the island? And it seems Mikael is indeed immortal which prolly means Richard is also. Can't wait to find out how he lost that eye.

I bet they're both real and unreal. The events actually happen but they are later able to time travel n such to prevent those things from happening, perhaps by Locke shooting Jack. This way the writers get to have it both ways. Kate gets Sawyer and Jack.

Smokey is a security system to protect the island. It needed Locke to step up and prevent discovery by the 'bad rescuers' presumably Thomas Mittlewerk and the Dharma goons.

Jack seemed more spiritually 'lost' than ever in the flashforward. They have 'lost' what the island gave them, lost the people they became there.

Ben said the island hadn't faced this serious threat in a long time. Can't wait to find out what that eariler serious threat was. The dharma incursion or something worse further in the past??

I just read that the funeral parlor, Hoffs/Drawlar, is an anagram for Flash Forward. Nice!

Why won't Mikhail stay dead? :stake

I didn't expect big Tom to buy it. Juliet seemed more than a little surprised herself.

Why, Charlie, why couldn't you wait to put the diving gear on before playing the Beach Boys on the computer?

I LOVED the way this season finally wrapped, but I have to admit, Charlie's death was a real tearjerker; but not necessary.

My wife and I both were frustrated that he didn't just close the door and go out himself?! :google

The casket: it has to be someone who wouldn't have family, and it can't be Kate -

1) Ben

2) Locke

I think those are the only two choices, and my guess is Locke - Jack gave a look like, you were right.

I wonder if Locke would actually leave the island. He's the one person who wants to stay. Then again, so does Ben.
