my wife and i have a theory that jack's dad is behind all of this.

The scar is on Locke's other side...

Yeah you're completely right. I had an argument with a co-worker today who swore over and over that he saw Locke's scar on the eye. :monkey5

I love that about mysteries and especially this show, you often see what you want to see.

After watching the pop-up repeat (and I liked the pop-ups, reiterating the net discussion is kind of interesting) I thought that it's definitely Locke in the coffin. "Neither friend nor family" to Jack. Kate says "why would I?" when Jack suggests she'd want to go to the funeral. Perhaps Locke was forced off the island and committed suicide.

Also the guy who sees Charlie- anyone else get the impression that he was played by Kevin Weisman (Marshall from "Alias")? If he was it would follow that he'll be a more important character later just as Dave was a recognizable actor.

I am liking the show - I might get bored with it again - but it's raising some interesting questions.

And I liked Eli Stone - I watched it before I watched any of the LOST episodes, so I hadn't seen any of the commercials. It's reminiscent of Wonder Falls - although not as clever.

I've been thinking more and more that it might be Locke in the coffin as well. In the obit from last season it mentions that deceased was survived by a teenage son and for some reason Locke having a son of that age makes the most sense of all the survivors.

After the new episode I'm leaning towards the person in the coffin being Sawyer. The split in the group seems to have created some huge issues, which would explain Hugo's apology to Jack in the flash forward. Since Sawyer decided to go with Locke, both Jack and Kate might feel a sense of betrayal. I also have the feeling that whoever Kate is with is not one of the Oceanic Six. Now my brain hurts.

Locke's not from NY, Michael is, and though he could have a son we haven't learned about or could have adopted Walt after coming back from the island it seems a stretch. The notion that the casket contains the body of Michael Dawson is supported by the fact that the writers talked about Jack's Newspaper clipping at the 2007 ComiCon (as recorded in the Official Lost Podcast/August 2, 2007) calling attention to the article as indicating the deceased was from New York and is survived by a teen-aged son. The writers did this as they announced the return of Harold Perrineau to the cast of Lost. Also, the funeral parlor was in a predominantly black neighborhood, and if it became known, especially to Walt, that Michael had murdered people on the island it would explain why no one, including Walt, attended the viewing and why, after losing the love and respect of his son, the person in the casket hung himself (or was hung by a vengeful Hurley or Walt?). Possibly Michael knew how to return to the island and that's why Jack was so upset about learning of the death of this person who was neither friend nor family?

Christian Shepard is Claire's father. Claire and Jack are half brother and sister.

He called me 'Quick Draw'.

I tried the same selections again and got 'Picasso'.
