I was surprised at it being Aaron. My big question is were they on the island long enough for Kate to not appear pregnant when she got on the plane and have a baby when they get rescued. I guess the time funkiness could explain that. Alternately Claire was one of the eight survivors and died when giving birth and so Kate adopted Aaron and it is known he is not her natural son.

I'm glad to know all that extra material isn't canon. I've never gotten in to all the stuff with Hanso etc so I was starting to feel like I was missing important components of the show.

Nobody has mentioned it, but Aaron looked about 3 years old, maybe older. So how long have they been off the island?

AND why Jack say that only 8 survived the crash? Why not just say that only 6 survived, the ones that made it off?

Maybe to explain Aaron in the scenario that Agent0028 came up with.

I can see that, he's lost his mystical faith in the island and turned into a brute force, leader type (which he wasn't in the beginning)

Remember, Sayid was warned by the French woman to watch his comrades for when they'd start to "change".

Season 4, Episode 4 "Eggtown" - Kate arranges a meeting between Ben and Miles while Sawyer distracts Locke.

During the meeting the following takes place:

KATE: You got one minute. Go.
MILES:How 'bout some privacy?
KATE: Fifty five seconds!
MILES: You know who I am?
BEN: Yes. [Nod]
MILES: You know who I work for?
BEN: Yes. [Nod]
MILES: You know he's put in a lot of time and energy into finding you. [Nods]
BEN: [Smile]
MILES: So now I've found you. [Shakes head] And now I can tell him exactly where you are. Or I can lie and tell him you were already dead. And I'd be willing to do that for 3.2 million dollars.
BEN: [Quizzically] You arranged this meeting so you could blackmail me?
MILES: It's extortion if you want to get technical.
BEN: 3.2? Why not 3.3 or 3.4?
[Pause. Miles nods]
BEN: What makes you think I have access to that kind of money?
MILES: Do not treat me like I'm one of them! [Hands bound, points at Kate.] Like I don't know who you are! And what you can do!
BEN: [Looks at Kate] Your friend Charlotte has seen me she knows I'm alive.
MILES: I'll take care of Charlotte. You just worry about getting me the money. You have two days.
BEN: My present situation is a little bit restricted. Can that be amended?
MILES: [Nods] O.K. One week. In cash.
KATE: Time's up.
MILES: Don't even think about it!
KATE: I said time's up! [Pushes Miles out of the room and closes the door.]

------

Now honestly, this could just be normal conversation. But upon re watching multiple times it seems more and more like code. Certainly, a lot of it is most likely an act to throw Kate off though.

So here's what I'm thinking:

Miles is the informant of the Freighter. He deliberately got close to Ben in order to relay a message in "rescue" him from the Losties. That message was most likely coded into "3.2 Million Dollars". And that number could be altered depending on the type of situation.

From what I'm thinking Miles has rescue on the way and was telling Ben that he will get him out in two days. Ben then orders him to kill Charlotte and make it a week - because he needs to talk to Locke more.

Your thoughts?

Interesting theory--- I like it. And it would go along with the twists of the show.

Damn man, great theory! Very believable.

After that, I still think that michael is ben's mole on the ship though. I can't think of another way for michael to return.

If that's my nephew and I'm in some way responsible for his not being with his mother (my half-sister), the guilt would cause me to want to make it up by taking care of the guy as best I can, not abandoning him.

His actions in the flashforward make me think that he doesn't know Claire was his sister. I just can't see him refusing to see his little nephew like that, no matter how many bad memories it stirs up...

Yes, but are we sure Jack knows that it is Claire's child?

No, they don't yet know that they are siblings, but the producers implied at SDCC that this would be discovered this season.

Of course, some things planned for this season will no longer be happening because of the strike.

I knew they didn't know about being siblings... so if Jack doesn't know it is Claire's baby, than maybe he thinks it is Sawyers'? Could just be a ploy by the writers to throw us off...

I assume Jack would be in touch with Kate enough to know if she got preggers. The Oceanic 6 obviously decided what story they were going to tell the rest of the world about the 8 survivors and such, and I think Aaron being Kate's kid was part of that for whatever reason. But who knows?

Did anyone else notice that the actor that played Kate's lawyer was also in the movie Frequency? If you haven't seen Frequency it has time-travel elements as the foundation of the story. His characters name in Frequency was Jack Shepard.

are we sure that aron isnt one of the oceanic six?........i mean claire was pregnant with him when she boarded...........and the last thing i want to start is a when does life begin debate but..........im just sayin' :monkey1

I think Aaron IS one of the oceanic six. Every episode, they have revealed a member of the six, and last episode was no exception.

i think he is too otherwise that may indeed create a firestorm of when life begins debate (not here im sure, but on dedicated lost boards :monkey3) .............so that makes 5 of the 6 right? so many questions. sidebar: i dont think kate could of just walked out of the courtroom facing murder charges because her mom refused to testify. unless the states evidence was only her mom's testimony. would it really that simple to walk? i guess in essence of the storytelling it would have to be.........no one wants to see kate all dressed up in court going thru appeals. we want to see her lounging by the pool in a smokin bikini. :D

I figure he counts as a member of the Oceanic 6. When does life being aside, he was born and survived on the island after the Oceanic flight crashed so I would think that would grant him one of the six status.
