True, I was thinking about how he managed to get Sayid on his side, but then becomes something of a master to him making him keep going after the guys even once they know he is gunning for them. Then there is always the possibility they didn't really kill Sayid's wife.

I think BEN killed Sayid's wife to enlist his help and expertise in offing Whidmore's peeps.

Suppose that's true and Ben just doctored the evidence, or just lied to get Sayid on his side. Maybe Widmore is tailing EVERYBODY that got off the island and Ben used that to his advantage.

Makes sense Widmore would tail them. Good way to find the island if they decide to go back (and know how).

I have another question...has Ben ACTUALLY ever killed ANYONE...besides his 'dad' with the gas? I can't seem to recall if he actually committed the act at any point or if he is the master manipulator trying to off people by using others to do his dirty work.

He went to the island as a boy, right? Where and when did he hook up with Widmore? When do you suppose we will find this out?

Geb

P.S. While I LOVE this show...it sure continues to generate twice as many questions each episode as it answers. Sure we find out that they never intended to bring people off the island...but what do they intend really?

Ben "calling" the Black Smoke was so ^^^^ING AWESOME!!! I couldn't believe that ^^^^. And it was like it didn't just seem to come and attack them, it seemed PISSED!! That was so cool. The other sweet part was Ben pulling the sawed-off shotty from the piano bench!

But yeah, Ben winding up in the Sahara Desert in a parka is a new one!!

With all the info Ben seems to be able to get ahold of, I can see him finding Penelope pretty easily!

But that brings up the question of what this game is they (ben and Widmore) are playing and what the rules are? It kinda reminds me of the rules from lucky Number Sleven.

The Smoke didn't kill all the mercenaries though? You see them in the next preview, or at least the main guy.

Yeah, the main guy got away, because he confronts some of the other people on the island next week.

These last few episodes have been as good as the very first ones! I can't wait for next week!!

okay i know its very early in the game but im gonna throw a few predictions in.
1. ben is going to be killed by penelope (either for killing desmond or her father or both).
2. ben is going to be killed by desmond (for killing penelope........im sure dez would be happy if ben killed charles).

this theory popped in my head last night with this whole "he broke the rules" as in the geneva convention agreement during world war 2 that ben and charles seemed to have between them. in the end i do believe ben will come out on top but be taken out by one of the two scenarios i listed. and i think as a final cliffhanger whoever does do that to ben will take control of the island for themselves............either for good or bad. (clouded the future is
:D)

Ben didn't think Alex was going to die. That was against "the rules." I think he was pretty shocked that it actually happened.

Yea, ben knew that he would be safe because widmore and him were following "the rules". Once widmore broke the rules, ben had nothing holding him back and called smokey. I can see that the two of them were in contact with eachother and knew what eachother were going to do; know that widmore broke the rules, all hell is going to break loose in an all out war. CAN'T WAIT.

All in all an excellent episode, but why didn't we get even a few seconds of what was going on on the boat?? Nothing on how Saiyd, Des and Micheal were doing.

Because that has never been how LOST works. It usually focuses on one person per episode and what is happening around them. This week was Ben, and it rocked hard.
