I can't help but feel that tonights newsletter will be a dissapointment on this front. :(

It's too close to SDCC to expect any new announcements. If anything is ready, they'll most likely hold off for the show at this point.

I'm still blaming New Line for product approval delays. (am rationalizing, but until I hear different, gonna keep believing that).

Do not give up hope! Hold true, friends, and take courage! Go! And fear no darkness!

"A Elbereth Gilthoniel! o menel palan-diriel, le nallon sí di-nguruthos! A tiro nín, Fanuilos!"
Alas, I fear this may no longer be the most appropriate quote to use. The more time passes, the more it seems that this one may be more fitting:

"Well, here at last, dear friends, on the shores of the Sea comes the end
of our fellowship in Middle-earth. Go in peace! I will not say: do not weep; for not all tears are an evil."

:(

"End? No, the journey doesn't end here. Death is just another path--one that we all must take. The grey rain-curtain of this world rolls back, and all turns to silver glass, and then you see it."

"What, Gandalf? See what?"

"White shores, and beyond, a new announcement under a swift sunrise."

How terrible would it be the have only these 4 figures to display? :monkey2
That's why I never collected the minimates because they couldn't deliver the core characters. It's like the Simpsons without Homer or Star Wars without Luke.

I want Gandalf at least. Getting a new body type and some Hobbitses seems really out of reach right now. I hope SDCC will have good news for us, but I fear it's a fool's hope.

For shame. Of all people, I would at least expect you to know better than to select a movie-only quote that so horribly misquotes and mischaracterizes the book.

;)

Herer's an encouraging quote from Chris... albeit from another thread:

Afterall, we want you to be completely happy with your purchase! And on a side note, as a LOTR geek myself...I want the LOTR geeks to be extra happy! (which they will be in the coming weeks...but I won't go there now..)

I'll thinking that Star Wars fans aren't going to be the only fans to be surprised by what Sideshow will display at SDCC. :monkey3 :monkey3 :monkey3

I also believe there will be something extra special, something that will shock and delight all Lord of the Rings fans here. Call it trust, or whatever you want, but I really feel there is more coming than most people are expecting at this point. They just needed a little time.

Your trust will be paid off... in spades :monkey3 LOTR will rock at SDCC :rock

(Disclaimer: maybe I should say *planning* to rock because, well, as I've explained in posts past, you just never know until the actual day! SO many factors... but I *can* say that there are a couple of cool things up our sleeve, and the line is far from dead...)

The line is FAR from dead! Thanks Dusty!

I love the SW line, but this LOTR line is even better IMO...I'd hate to see it end prematurely...before we have the hobbits, Gimli, Saruman, Gandalf, Ringwraith's and a few others...

:rock :rock :rock :rock :rock

With 196 days and counting since the last preorder, I'm taking a "I'll believe it when I see it" approach to this amazing but not terribly prolific line.

"In SPADES.." I can't even begin to tell you how much I like the sound of that!!! That's exactly what so many of us have been waiting to hear!!!

Although it has been tough to suppress my enthusiasm and anticipation along with everyone else while waiting for the line to really get rolling, I have never given up hope or supposed for a second that this line was finished. Not once!

I had a glimpse at a most impressive and exciting list of proposed 12" figures for this line some time ago, and the thought of them actually gracing my collection one day has always been firmly planted in my mind. I realized that it would take a considerable amount of time and no small effort to create many of the characters on that list, and to do them properly, and I've continued to believe that our patience will be richly rewarded in due course. Thanks for the hints, Dusty! Looking forward with great anticipation to SDCC!

Well I hope that the figures that will be previewed at SDCC are already in production so that they can ship soon after preorder - I'm to old to be ticking away months and months waiting for a figure - this goes for the Star Wasr line too...:monkey2
