While the PF's are a totally separate line as are the 12" figures, to think that the Weta line has no influence on what Sideshow is producing now I think would be naive. If not for the existing Weta line, does anyone actually think a 12" Faramir or a PF Lurtz would be among the first figures produced?

Of course that's why but just because the Fellowship was done in Poly it would be naive to think that it wouldn't be done in both formats.

The problem with the "Fellowship marching" theme is that it requires quite boring individual poses. Especially detrimental for those who were only planning on getting a few choice Fellowship members (like Gandalf, Frodo, and Aragorn, or Aragorn, Legolas, and Gimli or what have you.)

I wouldn't be surprised if the entire Fellowship appears in "battle ready" stances from Balin's tomb. A very iconic battle, everybody could be doing something interesting, it'd make for a nice Fellowship ensemble while still allowing cool battle poses for figures displayed by themselves.

He he, yes and it would also be great if the Gimli PF came with that Dwarven 50 cal. MG behind Bormir! :D

Here me out on this, say SS made a PF Fell Beast, and what if it came with a 12" RingWraith as the exclusive? Later on they can just release the RW as part of the 12 inch line. Kill 2 birds with one stone.

That would be awesome, but I don't think they will ever make a PF Fell Beast by itself. Unless they starting making the creatures of middle-earth...

that is impossible I think, the fellbeast wuld be way to big.
Check out the WETA fell beast statue and compare the morgul lord's size with the 1/6 statue of the ML.
Then think what a 1/4th would be like ...
Awesome, sure, but too big, too expensive, not suited for the PF line ...

Anyway, Sideshow please bring on some PF news before the end of the year. The con is so far away ... february ...

As somebody who is totally broke, I am appreciating the slower pace of this line. I can muster up the money to buy two a year, maybe three, but anything more than that would really be pushing it. I like the 1/6 scale figures, but it will be nice to have a display with the entire fellowship in PF and a couple notable baddies!

An announcement at toyfair is a bit of a wait, but I am very eager to see what is next!

After 10 months, we're all eager to see who's next and why he's taken so damn long. All I can say is, it better kick some serious ass.

How big would a PF of Sauron have to be to be in line with the other LOTR PFs? If it could be done really well that'd be a mighty impressive piece to own and I'd imagine one of the largest to tower over the rest of the PFs....

Well, I'm eager to see who's next that's for sure. It doesn't have to be someone like Eomer or Theoden with a ton of armor to make me go that's why. I understand matching things up has been difficult. I just want an announcement.

A PF Sauron would be like 3ft at least.

My guess is a Fell Beast, Sauron, or Balrog would be represented in the Legendary Scale Format not PF.

PF Pippen on the way!

Homeboy better be in his Gondor attire!

I wonder if they will do Merry and Pip as one large PF since very few would get one, but not the other?

Hey pal.... my sentiments goes with you... nearly all my fortune is bang on the LOTR collectibles... hopefully one day I will look back and tell myself, "Its worth it."

I think that there are a lot of us who can only handle about two or maybe three a year. I think that is an acceptable pace for the line. However, that means an announcement every four to six months. If we are really looking at Toy Fair for the next preorder, then we are talking about waiting a whole year between announcements. Once a year is too slow for this line to ever take off and build momentum.

Yeah they should intersparce that time with SSE versions.

I would very much like that  :D

A couple random thoughts for Merry and Pippin PFs. First is, since they are used a Moria Base for Frodo, how cool would it be to have Pippin next to the Well, complete with Dwarf Skeleton and "noisy bucket"?

Secondly, if they abandon the Moria Base for All fellowship members and do a PF of Merry & Pippin together, How about the two of them sitting atop Treebeard, the Base being his upper branches?
