The more and more i read the quote i really think he was takin a dig at his own movies and comparing two huge blockbusters and makin fun of the whole bit.(cause his whole quote fits in too well with his own movies..All CGI no good story etc.etc.what the critics and fanboys bashed in the prequels etc.)Plus the wink deal.

Sorry,I cant agree with Lucas on this one.While Spiderman 3 has its flaws,it still was a fun to watch film and entertaining.I enjoyed it as much as the 1st and 2nd Films.Hey Lucas,your just jealous cause your Starwars Prequels SUCKED! Only Episode 3 I can only stand,only because I was out Stormtrooping that night with my fellow 501st members which made it more special! The Spiderman Films are some of the best superhero movies made and Lucas your just a big Tard because right now STARWARS IS DEAD!

I remember when SM1 came out and all the fanboys were *****in about that.(myself one of them)But it never killed the movie for me as it's my favorite one.And i still wish they woulda used em.

It's Lucas being Lucas. The man is one of the most arrogant self centered guys on the planet. Sure the man knows marketing and makes tons of cash but He simply thinks too highly of himself as a film maker. It's quite funny actually. He's calmed down over the years tho but he's still Lucas.

What can I say that hasn't already been said here, yes Spider-Man 3 wasn't perfect, but it's still head and shoulders better than anything Lucas has written during the last ten years.

I'd certainly take it over TPM and AOTC any day.

Why is there a need to compare it to other films from different sources/creators? Why not simply look at it as a film that either A) stands on its own or B) fits into line with others of the same name.

I understand a comparison of Casino Royale with From Russia With Love as they both contain the same protagonist and they are from the same source material. Craig or Connery? Moore or Dalton? These are questions that can be openly discussed.

SM or SW?... Was SM3 better than Apocalypse Now? Was SM3 more creative than The Little Mermaid?

Now, on the question of the actual movie---- it was a fun popcorn superhero movie, but in my humble opinion it was the lesser of the three with the other two head and shoulders above... The reason for my opinion?--- The storytelling was suspect with random people/moments thrown together in what seemed like very haphazard storytelling and less than judicious editing.

Just an opinion---- if you loved the movie, great! I didn't hate it by any means. I just wasn't blown away by it either--- well except for Bruce's Maitre D'...
