The arms do seem a bit long, but there are people like that. He is actually built a lot like my brother. He has LONG arms too. The long arms don't look bad if you have his arms bent at all.

I received mine today as well and I have to say that NONE of the pictures I have seen do this sculpt justice. In person, the paint apps are perfect and the sculpt doesn't look like the "puckered fishface" or "deer in the headlights" as I have seen it being described. It actually kind of has a determined, using the force look. Please, see it in person before making blanket statements about the pictures of the sculpt.

I do have three problems with the figure though....stuck joints, overly long arms and too many display options. I fixed the stuck elbow and wrist joints. I can keep switching how he is displayed but can't do anything about the arms.

Anyway, I love everything about the figure despite the overly long arms. I can not wait for the rest to come out!

So glad I ordered 5 Lukes! (Exc & Reg from SS, I Exc on EBay and 2 more Regs online) always thought they would be special!

Has anyone got a Koto Trooper?

I want to see what Luke looks like next to one! :monkey5

I'm going to put my Luke next to my Koto Trooper when he arrives!

Though Jedi Luke hasn't materialized yet on my doorstep, I wanted to share a few thoughts on his release.

While I've always been a 1/6 SSC fan, I've never been a big fan of their bodies: too tall, trouser/hip fit, general proportionality issues, etc. As a long-time 1/6 hobbist, I've found DML and BBI bodies are better in these regards. I may switch out my Luke SSC body for a Dragon or BBI 3.5 frame, though I haven't decided for sure yet.

That having been said, I think SSC's Jedi Luke is an amazing creation. Though some have expressed hangups with Mark Hamill's facial expression on the head sculpt, it's not a biggie for me. I think it's super to finally have a quality likeness of young Skywalker. From the pics posted here and other forums, SSC has truly done Jedi Luke justice on several levels.

I'm not a big fan of his boots -- I'll probably switch those out for some WWII German officer's boots. Also the figure doesn't "look right" in just the black jedi jumpsuit (a one-piecer?), but looks fantastic with either the tunic and robe.

Overall though I'm mightly pleased with SSC's job on Luke and it looks like things only get better from here. He's a great figure and SSC hit one out of the park with Jedi Luke.

That's my .02, anyway.

I love it when people post a review that basically says the figure is mediocre, and end by saying how awesome it is. :peace

I'm not going scene-specific with posing. The leather belt fits over the tunic, so that's where I put it. He's holding both his saber and the blaster. I may even put the hero hilt on his belt. Call it Super-Jedi Luke.

The only things I couldn't find a place for were the bone, and three hands (gloved, damaged, force-weild). I'm working on a good way to display extra hands. So far nothing has worked without looking like it belongs in Thomas Hewitt's basement.

Well, this is being saved for the 1:6 scale Rancor!!! :eek Ok, one could dream...

Seriously, that is the one thing I would now have to really think about: where to store all of this stuff - from the boxes that the figs come in, to their extra accessories. I may just keep the extras in their boxes when not in use.

I myself love the look of Luke holding the blaster in one hand, saber in the other. Of all the exclusives, Luke was the only one to date that I did not score when he went on sale. Believe it or not, I actually totally forgot about him until I got home from work, but my waitlist was able to clear - and I am glad it did - the skiff blaster is really sweet.

Previous to this 1:6 scaler, my fav Jedi Luke was my vintage one.

Well Luke is awesome. Not much else to say that hasn't been said. Heres a pic for a scale with a future Vader.

I agree wholeheartedly with you there re-SSC bodies... also I find I can create more dynamic poses on something like a Dragon & BBI body too. BBI's earlier 1.0 bodies are useful too plus, with the taller Dylan 'Andromeda' Hunt variant, you can get a bit of extra height where necessary too.

Can you post a picture? I'd hoped to display him that way, too. I'd like to see how it looks.

Well I've changed my avatar to the new great Luke. I used a green filter over the light to simulate the lightsaber glow (which was cropped out). Can someone post the instructions again so I can post some more pics?

Looks great! That green glow really brings him to life. Even if Luke looks a little bug eyed, it's the best likeness of Mark Hamill I have seen. I bet when Sideshow releases ESB Luke, they will correct his eyes and then we'll have the perfect, definitive Luke.

I cannot quit staring at my Luke. I have him displayed in his robe, hood up, and just his left hand sticking out a little. He looks alive. I absolutely love this figure.

You must understand how important it is that Luke be a great figure. It is the first of many Star Wars figures that SSC will release. For people not sure if they're going to collect this line, this figure will make or break the deal. SSC needs this line to kick ass because so much is invested in it's success. In my opinion the strength in this line will keep SSC at the top for a long long time.

Also, LOTR won't hurt them either. These two lines, along with their PF, will be the foundation that continues to keep them at the top of the heap.

Nice comparison, EVILFACE. I wouldn't mind seeing more shots next to other Sideshow figures. Anyone? I need to live vicariously through you guys until my Luke arrives.

For all those who have received thier Luke I have a ???? Has anyone had a problem with the wire in Lukes rode coming out were it clips around Lukes neck...mine has a small hole were it is coming out.....I can push it back in, but every time I adjust Lukes robe or try to shape the hood the wire keeps coming out...I love the way Lukes looks with the robe on,but Iam afraid if I keep adjusting the hood the hole were the wire is coming out is goint to keep getting bigger.

Its to small of a hole to sew...does anyone have any glue ideas to close the hole...would standard superglue be ok...i dont think it would really damage the robe anymore than it already is...:devil

lol wook I was only kidding around, I know how important it is that it does well. Cant wait for the Lotr figures. Im going to *try* and only get afew, as with the SW line. Aragorn and Gandlaf are the two mains. I guess only time can tell how I hold up that plan:monkey5

And Luke is another must for me.

Nick: Glad I'm not the only one who thinks so. Perhaps that knowledge only comes through trial and error.
