Ugh im so torn about R2. Some people say hes awesome and i will admit he does look good and i love the features and goodies but then i hear about all the issues.

Multiple Artoo's are every woman's dream. You should hit the clubs.

I have the hoth stuff(luke, han, taun taun) and I like it a lot despite its flaws. The bodies were bad and out of scale, the outfit patches had issues, and the paint was way too tan. All the pieces together look great together imo though. Putting luke on the taun taun fixes scale, hood can kinda mask paint issues, etc. Those were $200 retail though and cheaper than that with discounts and $10 flat shipping. They also came with tons of stuff rivaling ht farmer luke. Unfortunately none of this applies to the red five and it has to stand on its own merit quality vs. price. We will see.

Yeah, it's pretty funny how there was so much groaning over those - yet you could throw all the headsculpts away and they'd still be a pretty good deal. The outfits and accessories are great and they came with a ton. Would love to see both hatless sculpts repainted.

Those two are strong with nostalgia factor. Body choices were odd to say the least, but X-Wing Luke will have a new 'light body', so that should hopefully cure that issue from the start.

I think both hatted Hoth sculpts work well with the outfits. Though they don't photograph well at all.

The EX Luke head didn't get the same tan treatment for some reason.:dunno I'm nearly finished my beat-up HOth Luke and I'm happy with that head.

I'd rather have this happen on these figures where there's lot more to catch your eye (outfit or accessory wise,) and stuff partially or even totally covering the headsculpt, than on a figure where all you got is the head - like HT Ben. You can put the hood up, but it's a really plain outfit and the head is the primary focus of the figure, so if you're not crazy about the likeness (as some seemingly are) there's really nothing you can do except turn it away or alter the lighting.

[R2] What I heard is that he's slightly on the small side.

That's a definite and the only complaint that can't be easily addressed or ignored. But add just a little bit of wheel height and he still looks great next to other figures.

At least there's a pretty nice looking helmet for Luke to cover up any disappointment with the head. :lol

I have high hopes for this figure, but the HT sculpt is so good I can remedy a bad sculpt. Would like SS to produce a good proto to production sculpt though. Got my display pieces set just need him to complete. Planning up 4 OT displays of props/figures for Luke, Vader, Han and Bobba.

Those EFX?

Yes they are. Amazing pieces, damn shame that company cannot get their ***** together. They have some wonderful products.

Agreed. I've seen that helmet up for sale from time to time, but no one lets that X-Wing go.

Edit: I think my best bet this late in the game, woud be to find a professional modeller and commission a build and paint-up. Maybe some day.

Hokie, you gotta remove that paper from the mirror base on the Luke helmet. Chopchop.

Lol that is an old pic when I first got the helmet. I actually swapped bases with the tie fighter for the helmet. I liked the bigger base for it to match the Vader legend base. This is the current setup in my TV room. Wife hates me right now. haha. Star Wars fever running rampant. I told her they are art pieces and should be treated like decoration. :rotfl

Hope you can get something together, there is nothing like a big ass x-wing on display. :lol

Haha, awesome display. I picked up the TIE recently, it's pretty gorgeous but don't know that studio scale is for me--at least not in my current apartment. I just showed my girlfriend your pic to show her things could be worse, and now she wants to start a support group for wives/GFs of collectors.
